If that poll doesn't sound off any alarm bells in our AD and football offices, I don't know what will. I take this kind of thing with a grain of salt. Much more interested in what the end of season standings look like than the preseason top 10. In the MVFC, USD is really only a couple conference wins away from being on this list. Win 2 or 3 of the non-cons and win a couple MVFC games early and you're in the top 25. Don't get me wrong, USD underperformed in spectacular fashion this spring but I've moved past that and have to look at this upcoming season with some optimism. What else can you do really? |

For sure. Wins matter more than pre-season popularity contests. But it will definitely be of interest to the entire conference to see if 3 Dakota schools can maintain top 10-15 status. Also perception is reality in recruiting. We can only sell the new/upgraded digs for so long.

First home game in 3 weeks. I would ask all of us to reach out and get as many Coyote fans to that game as possible. We are in a brand new renovated Dome and my goal is to make this an absolute HELL HOLE to play in just as it is in Fargo. We have a long journey in front of us but every journey begins with a step forward.
I understand the team has to produce something to get fans into the game but we also can play a role in this process as well. The players can feed off of fan passion and the fans feed off of player passion. It’s like the chicken and egg deal. What comes first?
Let’s be loud as hell. Be as crazy and nuts as you can be and start a whole new tradition in the Dome. My dad once told me you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Let’s ring in this year with a Dome home W in front of racious fans.
Play well in Lawrence. Possibly spring a minor upset then come back and kick the Lumberjacks rears.
