I just woke up from a power nap. Getting old - need a little rest between the game and the celebration.
My first reaction is that ISUb is as bad as I initially thought. I was actually disgusted at the score after the first quarter. As the game went on, we started putting some drives together and opening up the score a little bit. My biggest gripe is the clock management at the end of the first half. We had 2 timeouts and 1:40 ish on the clock. The game wasn't over at that point but we took one shot then were happy taking it into the half.
Saw a lot of good things today. We took care of business like we're supposed to. Camp still looks scared back there but he made some nice plays.
See you guys downtown. Happy DDAYS boys.

Very solid game by the Yote D!! 2 INTs and 2 sacks, held ISU to 10 pts and only 205 yds. Camp has his first 3 TD passing game with 2 going to Sampson on nice grabs!
Then the Coyotes road the Thomas train in the 4th. Great power running thanks to the hippos too!
Great opportunity next week against highly ranked North Dakota that gave #5 NDSU all they wanted in a 16-10 loss.
I'll be in dome Saturday with the two grandsons and son in law to cheer the Yotes to victory!!

This seems like a pretty weak crowd for d days. Lots of empty seats. I'd wager it was only slightly smaller than normal, but looked worse given all the new seats. The atmosphere outside and in the dome didn't feel like anything special though.

The game, at least for most of the first half did not have any flow at all. A lot of penalties and delays. The officials seemed to be taking their own sweet time with just about everything early on which made the game hard to watch for awhile. The Coyotes were slow to get going and I think all the delays had to do with it. Once they did they rolled pretty good. I did not think Indiana State really came to play very much, especially once they got down by a couple of touchdowns. They aren't the best team. If the Coyotes are to beat North Dakota they will have to step it up a notch or ten. This game was about what I expected and ultimately the Coyotes took care of business and it is hard to complain much about that. I did notice on the west side the grand stand was only about a third full to start the game and many people left sometime around halftime because the second half it was only about a fourth full. I wonder why so many people left. I am not sure how full the east side was but it seemed fuller than the west side.
Next week the fans need to step up and be louder consistently and the team will need to play a fairly complete game to get a win.

The atmosphere outside and in the dome didn't feel like anything special though. I actually thought the atmosphere outside the dome was pretty good. I was wondering if a lot of people just stayed out there during the game because it seemed like there was a lot more outside than what was inside. You are probably right about Just looking more empty because of the extra seats. What does the dome hold now? What was the attendance anyway? Camp was more elusive than I thought he was. He's not going to mistake anyone for strev but he's certainly not big ben either. And I would think down inside the 10-yard line we would be able to have some wildcat packages for our Rutgers transfer. Even though we did punch it in down there it certainly was not easy.

Dome holds 9100, and there was official (let’s not have this debate again) attendance 6267.

Wasn’t able to make the game this week, so had to watch it on-line. Defense played well and held down a very inferior offense. Did what they should have done vs that opponent. Love the energy and enthusiasm these guys play with and definitely have some guys that can get to the QB!!
Still think the offense needs to turn on the engine and become a better passing team when necessary. 3rd down and more than 6 yards is not a good situation for us. We throw RPOs and play-action well on 1st & 2nd down and those work well when we run well, but Camp gets extremely skittish in the pocket when he has to make a 3rd down and long throw. Luckily, we have been able to establish a very productive run game and have some very talented RBs in the toolbox.
The other thing that concerns me is the lack of production at the WR position especially the outside guys. If you look at the team stats, Bell is heads and tails above the next WR (actually triple the catches and yards at this point) in catches, yards, and always seems to be open. Other teams see this also and I noticed that Indiana State was taking their best DB (a corner #12) and matching him up on him in man coverage. We have to be able to take advantage of that by the outside WRs. Where has Case been? Why isn’t he on the field on the outside more and getting targets? He’s one of the best and fastest WRs in the league. He’s not hurt, I do know that 100%. The concepts are being called, but no one is open. This will become a major issue as we go against teams that stop the run better and put us in longer yardage 3rd downs.

He just wasn't getting open. I watched for it several times. Maybe he's lost a step or something with all the injuries, but he's definitely not running wide open.

Yes, he was out there, not a lot, but did play. Never said he was wide open, stated that he isn’t getting targeted and he is one of the top kids in the league. Don’t think he’s lost a step just not part of the equation in the passing game. Hard to get open when everything he runs is a vertical route vs man coverage and not designed to get him a touch.

That's his whole game though. He's not a big physical receiver like Samson or Bell that's gonna go up and rip the ball away from a defender. He's a speed guy. If a speed guy can't get open on a vertical route against 1 on 1 press coverage, that's a problem. I like the kid a lot, but I don't see where he's one of the best in the league.

I don't think Case is exactly a possession type receiver who's going to stuff the stat sheet, but he's definitely a game changer and capable of stretching the field and making the incredible catch. Defenses will always have to account for him when he's in the game.

The issue with Case is he is the type of receiver that is going to stretch the field but needs an accurate quarterback to put it just about right on the money down field aways. If not he doesn't have the ability to high point a ball etc like other receivers would. Unfortunately with Camp and his inaccuracy that is going to hurt Case. Right now the best type of play for him is probably a bubble screen in the flat where he can try to make something of it in space.

I think he can still be a deep threat but he is gonna need to run a great route and get super open to where Camp can just throw to an area and let Case run underneath it.

I am far from a football X's & O's guy, but it seems like a lot of Bell's catches are on plays where Case stretches the field and Bell runs a route underneath. So even when not getting many catches, Case is still positively affecting the game.

So even when not getting many catches, Case is still positively affecting the game. Probably a route concept that is designed to force a defender to make a decision, which should be the deep route 9/10 times. Camp will get better at reading the defense and pump faking the under route over time.
