Smashing the rearview mirror this morning. We all know what happened this past weekend - I'm moving past it. Little reality check for the boys and they're getting back to work. We aren't out of the playoff picture and the rest of the season starts this Saturday against a very beatable ISUb. Of all of our conference games, this is one of a couple of "should-wins". They aren't a top tier team in the Valley - look what a top tier team did to them at their place this weekend. We will bounce back and beat them convincingly.
Happy DDAYS everybody. Heading to Vermillion tomorrow to catch the volleyball game, then back there early Friday morning for the weekend. It's the happiest week of the year.

The Coyotes will need to win both of these home games to remain a serious contender for a playoff spot. Even if they lose one of them they will sit at 1-2 in conference with games against SDSU and NDSU still to come which more than likely will both go down as losses. In that case it would take running the table the rest of the way to finish at 4-4 in the conference. If the Coyotes can take advantage of the home field and end be sitting at 2-1 in the MVFC than anything is certainly possible.
I do think the Indiana State game will be a win and I will go with 37-14 on that one in the win column. The UND game is looming large and that is probably a pick em game with home field very important to swing it slightly more likely as a Coyote win.
I thought play calling and coaching was a big factor in the Missouri State loss. I think the Coyotes man for man were as good as MSU but SD kind of did some things to self destruct a bit. The game was winnable but the Yotes just made a few too many discipline and tactical mistakes and it cost them.

No one here is happy. This team feels head and shoulders above the past few years, but we have no results to show for it. One weak link and a whole lot of BS from the refs and 4-0 turns into 2-2, which feels like 0-4. Only feels that way because there is a whole lot of talent here ready to be focused into a contender.
I said before that our path to the playoffs all along has been win at home and take a game or two on the road in MVFC play. Playoffs are still very much in play. Show that Indiana State are pushovers, take care of business against UND, then head out to UNI for a critical game. We still may have a great season and special team.

Not much discussion here. Are we that apathetic about this season already?
We still have a shot at the playoffs and I realistically think we have a team that can make it. It all starts this weekend. ISUb has shown that they aren't ready to compete with the upper tier in the MVFC. I don't know that we would win too many games against the elite teams in the league right now either, but I know we'd be able to compete. I wasn't sold on MSU before last week, but now I think that's a realistic top 10 team and we were a couple plays away from beating them on the road.
I'm expecting an NAU like performance on Saturday in front of a record breaking dome crowd. Let's get a little fired up here y'all it's friggin DDAYS.

I am totally fired up. I hope the crowd reflects that same enthusiasm.
We’re fine. We just need to play one game at a time. Quit worrying about 4-5 conference wins and just take care of business. In the Sagarin ratings the Coyotes are 17th in the country. That’s the good news. The bad news is there’s 6 Valley teams ahead of us. Think about that. 7 Valley teams in the top 17. What a league.
It’s fricking D-Days people. Let’s get a win and have a great weekend.

It's D-Days, I've learned to pace myself...
I'll admit I'm not a big contributor on pre-game comments, more post-game blow ups.
Anyways, looking forward to a great Saturday. My brother is coming to town for a USD game for the first time since he was just a kid coming to my games, parents coming too. He watches us on TV and comments, plenty. They've come up for tailgating before but never the game...don't ask. So it should be fun. Hell, it's a family reunion. We should all try it!
Well, that's enough about me. Obviously, I'm excited. GoYotes!

Bloody Mary's tomorrow morning at 9PM on the Dakota Brickhouse patio. No better place to watch the parade. Then on to tailgate before heading into the Dome with my group of 12 to watch the Yotes cut down the Sycamores.
GoYotes and Happy D-Days.
