So I changed my mind. I removed NDSU from the other thread, and I'm making a thread for all three matches this week:
Tuesday 7PM vs. NDSU
Thursday 4PM @ ORU
Saturday 1PM @ KC
That's three matches in five days. Would be tough regardless of opponent, but you won't find a "gimme" game in there. The finale is against a KC team that beat us twice back-to-back in the SCSC just six months ago. Payback time.

Even with the four-set win against State, the computer rankings at Massey.com don't think much of the Yotes. They have us losing six conference matches, twice each to Denver, KC, and Omaha. Here are the current odds on the Southern Tour this week:
87% chance, W 3-1 vs NDSU 70% chance, W 3-1 @ ORU 24% chance, L 1-3 @ KC
my take: W 3-0 vs NDSU W 3-0 @ ORU W 3-1 @ KC
I would have gone 3-1 @ Oral Roberts because their gym is so weird, but this is a veteran Yotes squad. We've played there before. I believe we now have all the pieces put together for the comeback tour.

The Yotes have probably been resting on their laurels a bit this year. Once they start wanting it worse than their opponents they should have plenty of talent to secure many conference wins.

Dang! today's students get free Coyote swag just for showing up to games at the SCSC. Back in '96 I eagerly signed up for a Contiki Visa card in the "CSC" (Coyote Student Center) for a free tee-shirt. Buying cases of Busch Light from "Shop Sleazy" with a high-interest credit card wasn't the smartest financial decision of my life...

It was a fun game last night. They hit really well but still struggled at times in serve receive. Overall, great game though.
On another note, I tried the new "mac dog" from the concession stand. A dome dog with mac n cheese, onion strings, and bbq sauce. A real culinary experience lol.

Yotes had another very good performance on both sides of the net. After starting off shaky down 16-10 they reeled off 7 straight points and never looked back. Now the competition ratchets up a bit with ORU & KC on the road. They need to keep the momentum. Go Yotes!!!

from interview:
Coach: "We definitely focused on slowing down their outsides a little bit more. That was a focus of ours. And to see both of their outsides hit under .100, I feel like those are much better numbers ... than some of the other outsides that we've played..."
"Lolo had a really good night... she was reading their hitters at a high rate... it kept us in a lot more rallies... and not just digging the ball, but keeping the ball in-system..."
"About our blockers... it's not necessarily (just) about the block numbers. I actually thought our blockers did a much better job of setting up, taking up the space they are supposed to, and letting our defense play around them."

Blocks are frosting. Forcing their attackers to hit around our blocks is cake
