I just need to vent here....I am a Coyote football season ticket holder here and have been for a long time. And I am sick of the amateur gameday experience.
Among the failures:
1. Canned music playing over the band, making both impossible to hear.
2. Scoreboard stats which quit updating after half way through the first quarter...and never an individual stat.
3. Never a replay on the video board. Calls are challenged and we have no chance to see what the issue is.
4. Hardly ever a score report from other conference games. And when they are reported...it's incoherent.
I'm sorry, but this is totally amateur. The team and fans deserve better than the equivalent of an 8th grade football game. And that's on the AD.

Spot on on all accounts. We have a brand new scoreboard and don’t utilize it. I think Herbster addressed the lack of stats after the home opener, some issue with the new software not working. Also right before the opener they had their video gal quit, so they were shorthanded and inexperienced. But they’ve had plenty of time to figure it out. Everything about today was bad. Tailgate was half empty. Building half empty. Student section was empty. And if you go to another school’s homecoming, just stay there and don’t come back. They should absolutely be putting out of town scores on the board at breaks, rather than the PA announcing them. And how can the sound system be so bad, I thought it was new???

I’m sorry I sound like a broken record, but - we cannot win until we quit expecting to lose. We are way too accepting of our team at the expense of expecting wins.

The XDSUs, Montanas, UNIs, etc of the FCS world accept nothing less than winning. We get excited to see national rankings and then all of the sudden expect to be in Frisco. We are still playing checkers and the winners are playing chess.

Just curious but what fan or player did not expect to win this game against Illinois state. I am as cynical as anyone but i have seen real progress this season. The coyotes have no choice but to respond now.

I will say the VIP area was pretty full...not that any of them were watching the game or cheering on the Coyotes.....

When are they going to fix the PA system so we can understand what the announcer is saying. We sit in row 2 and can't understand one thing that is said.

Don't know where you tailgate but there was a ton of people in the NE section of the lot by the Big Red Bus and the other spots there about an hour before the game. My only complaint would be people arrive earlier.

Go anywhere besides that back row of parking in the NE corner and try to find groups of people tailgating. There used to be a grass lot people used that was a good atmosphere, but that lot disappeared a couple years ago and apparently those fans went with it.
The atmosphere was completely flat outside again yesterday and it seems like even winning won't fix that.

For anyone who could make it, how's the new tailgating set up?

For anyone who could make it, how's the new tailgating set up? I was only there for 30-40 minutes, but thought it was an improvement for sure. It felt like the "heart" of the tailgate atmosphere was in/around the new Coyote Alley (between tennis courts and WH Over). Crowd skewed younger in that area, but all ages were present. On the museum side of the street you had bounce castles and other youth games, the tennis side had the typical large tent and vendors, but also live music, student tailgate spots, and a BBQ food truck (that had several people in line when I went through). Then you have the usual setup in the parking lot itself that we've seen for a while now, but it all felt much more cohesive. I wandered through the whole tailgate and never felt like I was in "no man's land" like I have in the past. Something I didn't figure out was whether the students have a designated area anymore. It seemed like the Coyote Alley is where they would be guided now. That should be a good thing as the students will have a chance to feel connected to everyone else, while also having a spot for families to enjoy themselves with a fair buffer from any unsightly behaviors from the students. It seems like a great step forward for the tailgate experience. I've long talked about how fractured the whole thing has felt, but that wasn't how I felt today. I would have liked to have been able to spend more time out there today but overall I think that if we can at least maintain that atmosphere then we are heading in the right direction.
