updated with heights. No big surprises. Actually, Freshman OH Avery Beckett is listed on the roster an inch taller than what the recruiting said. From 5-10 to 5-11. Maybe the recruiting height was old.

Updated the 2024 class, and added a dark purple color for "possibly PWO (Preferred Walk-On)"
After reading about how some of the P-5 programs deal with the very limiting maximum 12 scholarships in a headcount sport, I have a guess as to what this staff's strategy might be:
I think they go after a scholarship DS/Libero about every other year, and a scholarship Setter about every third year. On the Setters, Coach Williamson has said they are very choosy. For both the L and S positions, I think they backfill with walk-ons more than other positions, just in case of injury or if a player just doesn't pan out. Also they can use those walk-on spots for Setters and DS's that are very good servers. That way they can get on the court as serving specialists.
With the Hitters and Middles, they mostly use full scholarships, but add walk-ons occasionally, too. Just a theory.
I made a guess as to who the walk-ons might be, mainly to get a better picture of the scholarship situation. I could be way off-base. If anyone has any insights or inside info, feel free to share.
This would make sense for not pushing hard to get Faith Frame, but maybe will really go after Pokharel at Libero in the 2025 class? I could see us picking up a couple of walk-ons at DS or Setter in the 2024 class later on in the cycle. Those kids might hold out for a scholarship spot elsewhere, but end up deciding to walk on here.
This would also make sense for why they wait to announce players returning for a Covid year, because the scholarship situation is always so tight in this sport. They may not know if they can spare a scholarship until the end of the season.
Who knows? I could be completely full of it.

Ok, let’s solve the mystery… liked by both Morgan Bode (2024 MB) and Natalie Wardlow (2025 MB)… hmmm. 🤔🧩

Well... The new roster for 2023 came out, so I had to update the matrix... Don't laugh at me, but hitting the delete button on the senior class was not easy.

Updated with Wolff now classified as a Junior, since she will be taking a Covid year. Also, Loschen will be classed as a Middle Blocker, not an OH/RS, and Van Hook is now 5-9

Can we pin this thread to the top of the Volleyball board? It get easily buried under game threads.
