Let's hope the 2nd quarter was the exception to the rule.

Uncharacteristically we played very discombobulated. Hannah on the bench killed us. We are taking poor shots. Deep 3’s.
I think they’ll regroup but I have to say it’s got the feel of “something ain’t right”

McDavid's quickness down low is causing some problems. Alnatas is good. Yotes have come out aggressively in the third. Alnatas went to the bench which seems like can't happen if KC wants to stay in it. Those two studs will have to play as many minutes as possible.

Watson with steals and scores on back-to-back possessions (dished off to Larkins, and drew a foul on the 2nd.) Then Lamb buries a three, and just like that 48-37.

My goodness we always seem to struggle against a full court press.

The Yotes looked tired the last 4 or 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. Missing open jumpers, mental mistakes, lazy passes, dribbling to dead spots. I understand you keep your starters on the floor against good teams, but it is a long season, and the starters can't play 36+ minutes per game without wearing down. Lamb 38 mins Krull 38 Watson 37 Korngable 36

I was surprised (but happy) that Coach Hoyt called off her defense in that last minute. Kind of a curious move. They had a lot of ground to make up, but not insurmountable if a couple things go your way. Nice road sweep to start the league season.

Two silly fouls early on made it more interesting than probably would have been otherwise.
But the Yotes toughed it out for the W. Have a great Christmas break ladies!!!

Without Hannah we aren't a very good team. Recruiting a couple bigs should be top priority.

Without Hannah we aren't a very good team. Recruiting a couple bigs should be top priority. She is such a force on both ends and opens up the floor for everyone. She is gonna be the toughest player to replace no doubt. At the mid major level there are not many sjerven's to go around. I do worry some for next year and how and who is gonna step in for the big 3.

Lamb 38 mins Krull 38 Watson 37 Korngable 36 I think they were tired and I’ll speculate a bit on why I think they were. If that team could charter on that trip, as opposed to taking a bus,I don’t think they would be as fatigued. The bus trip to Tulsa was over 8 hours. Play a game, then bus 4 hours to KC. That’s a lot. In my day traveling by bus 8 hours was the norm, but in today’s world it doesn’t fly. Schools use that to recruit against us. And I would to if I was somewhere else. It’s sort of a microcosm of where we are at in sports today. You have to be willing to “pay the piper” if you want to be elite. Part of me totally hates it, but the other part gets it. We live in a world where athletes want and expect the best. But that costs money. And when you look inside an arena where there’s maybe 400-500 at a game, and the 3 refs cost $4500 you need to ask yourself where’s it gonna come from? The same goes for football, Mens basketball, volleyball, and so on. Coaches are hired to win. Period. Quite frankly they aren’t concerned with where the money comes from. They just need to stay on an even keel or ahead of their peers. That’s why I am so adamant about selling season and single game tickets. I’ll jump off my soapbox…sorry. But personally speaking I think they need to charter to schools like this. That’s gonna run around $75,000. But we’re more fresh and in a better position to win.
