The Massey and WN nearly always underestimate the Coyotes in theses Summit games. It they keep trying long enough they will eventually get it right.

I have to assume that the reason has something to do with incorporating too much data from the non-conference season, or not weighting those stats by the strength of the opponent? Some advanced metrics weight recent games more than past ones. I don't think that's the case with ELO, but ELO was originally developed to rank chess players, so it's all about weighted (or handicapping) matchups. Whatever the reason, it has been relatively accurate to this point. To this point in the season, Denver has been the worst in conference play. I don't think a 30 point win is out of the question. I'd gladly take a win of any kind, of course. Denver could randomly have some player hit 10 arc shots to keep them in the game. Who knows. Not likely. |

The new coach talked a good game about playing fast, but they are only averaging 70.5 possessions a game, which is pretty much average. WIU and ORU are the fastest-paced Summit teams right now, and you see how that turned out for them when we put up 90 points on ORU. I think low 80s or high 70s seems about right for the Yotes in this one. Definitely sub-50 for Denver. I’ll say 75-48 |

Yup. Not much else to say. That was a name-your-score kinda game. Could have beaten them by 50, and the bench got a ton of minutes. Our offense in that game was every bit as good as our defense. They are rolling. |
