This will be a tough game against a tall, talented Western Illinois team that has probably underachieved in conference play more than anyone given their talent level. A victory would insure a winning season in conference. With the games coming up next week against two teams that are in the race for the 3,4, and 5 seeds, these last few games will be worthy of attention.

These next three games will tell us a lot about our team and how we've progressed as WIU, KC, and ORU are our closest in conference peers this season. We should pull off a home win today. I would love to avenge our early season losses to ORU and KC. At least one win locks us into a 4-5 rematch with KC in the tournament. Going 3-0 gives us an outside shot at the third seed.

Senior Day question: We technically don't have any seniors, but Anderson, Fuller, Archambault, and Hayes are all in their fourth collegiate years. Are any of those guys graduating and moving on, or do we expect to return all of our scholarship players next season?

My intel (FWIW) says that there isn't going to be a senior day celebration today because we have no seniors, so it would appear, at least for now, that everyone will return.

It was great to close that game out the way we did, but dang was that game frustrating at times. The inconsistency of the refs had much to do with it though.

Interesting game to watch and a great win. Unreal how hot both teams were in the first half although it tapered off for both squads the last five or six minutes. Cold shooting continued for the first several minutes for everyone, but with Western managing to rack up an eight to one foul advantage and a three point lead I thought we were in big trouble. They never did take advantage of that foul differential though and going 0/9 from three-point land in the second half didn't help their cause either. Turning point of the game was when Hayes got called for fouling #44 under the hoop. My red tinted glasses saw this as an offensive foul, and most in attendance agreed with my interpretation. It really seemed to light a fire under both the crowd and the team at that point because it got about as loud as I've heard in a while and the players definitely responded. Defensive intensity picked up and the 'Yotes had a string of great looks and were connecting on the shots. Score went from being down to up double figures in a very short time. Western has some players. They're not going to be an easy matchup in the Summit League Tourney.

Really proud of how this team has come along this season. Looked pretty rough early on but good growth as we head to the tournament. Would be nice to have a good showing there and set the stage for next year. Congrats to the team on making this an interesting season to watch.
