Tough one, personally if the Yotes can’t win it all then I’d wanna see KC or ORU. But if we wanna send the best team to generate some noise then SDSU is our poison. I’m curious how they’ll respond to that pressure, sweeping the league is one thing but sweeping the league AND tournament is a whole other beast.

I'm not at all interested in the conference "generating noise" unless it's the coyotes. If state does walk through the SLT, I hope they get beat by 40 and embarrass themselves. Added bonus if they somehow miss their flight home and have to take a school bus. Then we can sit here and talk trash about how bad they got beat and discredit them for not winning a tournament game just like they do to our women's team every year. There are plenty of idiots in SD that will be cheering for state already, they certainly don't need my help.

Well said fightsd,
The better the Jacks do it hurts the Coyotes, it doesn't help them. If they struggle and become mediocre it gives the Coyotes a better chance to win the Summit tourney and get to the tournament. It also gives them an advantage over SD in recruiting as well. I also wish they would lose by 40 in the NCAA tourney and lose every first round game in the Summit tourney. Some want the Jacks to win and that is their choice. Some want them to get to the final four.
If the Jack Women would have become mediocre about 10 years ago the Coyotes would probably have about 6 or 7 NCAA appearances by now. SDSU's success in Men's and Women's Basketball is absolutely a huge reason that Coyotes do not have more NCAA appearances and that is not really debatable. Cheering for them is indirectly cheering against the Coyotes. The Coyote Men would probably have at least one NCAA tourney appearance but the Jacks, the Refs and their pro Denny crowd is an absolute hinderance to SD and their chances. I am tired of going into that building and coming out of it with multiple heart breaking losses against them. It is one of the reasons that I am not real excited to attend the tourney. I did 2 years ago but I have no plans to attend this year and sit in the rafters. It actually doesn't really bother me much at all. I don't really like the Summit League so I don't feel obligated to support their tourney. I will support the Coyotes but I would rather do so in Vermillion. I will go to the tourney from time to time but my guts were ripped right out of me after the loss to the Jacks in the Men's semi's a few years ago. I felt sick walking out of there and felt like never stepping foot in that building again. I felt like the crowd, the refs, the league, luck, the world and some type of god were all against the Coyotes that day. This is not our tourney and never really has been.

Time for some predictions on this tourney. How about others join in as well.
First Round
SDSU over Omaha - 90-67 - If the Jacks don't win this one their fans will burn down the Denny NDSU over Denver - 76-67 - the Bison can be good but typically they just win when it matters Western Illinois over Oral Roberts - 76-73 - with a three pointer at the buzzer South Dakota over Kansas City - 75-70 - but I don't feel comfortable with this game at all
Second Round
SDSU over South Dakota - 87-72 - unfortunately the Coyotes don't play lock down defense often enough NDSU over Western Illinois - 66-62 - another skim by win by the Bison
Final
SDSU over NDSU - 84-73 - if this one comes down to the final 2:00 I think the Bison figure out a way to win.

I wanna see an NDSU-ORU handshake line in the semifinal.

I think NDSU crushes the Jacks souls again this year. Whenever SDSU starts to build something nice the Bison come along and piss all over it. That's just the way it is. See football, basketball.
USD will play hard and the players will give great effort, we just don't have enough horses this season.

I will agree that we just don't have the talent on the roster this year, but I'm not ready to write off this weekend. They are good enough to knock off anybody in the conference on any given night. Anything can happen in March. To say I'm pumped for this weekend would be an understatement. Is Wednesday too early to start tailgating?

I am looking forward to the Yotes game tonight. 2 months ago I would not have been saying that. The team has been good lately and with the home crowd advantage I give the Coyotes a 55 percent chance to win.
