You can't have a list like this without Dakota by Stereophonics (who is one of my favorite bands). Fun fact: They originally wanted to call it "Vermillion", but someone else had a song out at that time with that name, so they went with "Dakota". Apparently they played USD back in the day, and finished this song on the tour bus. (Wasn't there - I assume it was the DakotaDome?) Never heard of them before, but I really liked this song. What decade is this from?

Every time I hear a Bee Gee's song I just want to plunge knitting needles into my ears. Oh, sorry about that. Here's a better one : Still a Bee Gee's song. They should be banned for all eternity. I'd rather listen to Alvin and the Chipmunks.

What decade is this from? They are a British band - they were popular in the '00s. This particular song - though not one of my favorites - was #1 in the UK. I see it has over 140 million plays on Spotify, even though it was popular long before Spotify was a thing. That is a lot of people listening to a song from Vermillion.
(Vermilion Chamber should organize a concert with them...)

The 00s...I'd tuned out by then. They're worth looking into though.

OK, clearly I'm old, (plus I have an afinity for 70's music anyway). But you guys need to help me out with some more recent "road trip" music. Here's my pathetic attempt:

Although I still think this song is cringe, .... The WBB team has made it cool again. Whaddayagonnado? Cringe is the best word for it.
