Not sure if this is the right place, but Danni Nichols from Western Illinois just signed with Coach P at West Virginia.

Is it just me, or is anyone else concerned about our lack of transfers into the program from the portal? Right now there are only eleven players listed on the roster and that includes the two incoming freshmen and Natalie Mazurek who most likely won't be available for at least the first part of next season. One or two injuries and we'd be really short on players.

A couple injuries and suddenly there is a major issue. Also we are in need of some experience. I do expect there to be some transfer portal additions soon. If there isn't, I will be concerned.

Beeman was on campus yesterday. Nice. She was quite a dynamic player at the Division II level. Great shooting range and terrific assist numbers. Would provide immediate help at a position of need. Only question mark is she is on the short side.

Only question mark is she is on the short side. True. She's listed at 5'-4"... But so was Emily Clemens at WIU. Paige Meyer is 5-6. It can work at PG if she has skills... and tall people to pass it to.

Just for clarity, we do have three 2023 commits coming in next year, with more being recruited to that class (recent guard offer). We only have two graduating after next year (Guebert and Pep), so we wouldn't be able to fill all four open scholarship spots this year (unless one or two of them were 1-year transfers). As was mentioned before, It would be nice to get an experienced PG and a big in this transfer season, but it kinda looks like this staff is prepared to backfill in an enlarged 2023 class, too. We would have a shortened bench year, followed by a year where we see a lot of new faces. It wouldn't be the end of the world. That Oregon team that boat-raced us in the 2021 Tournament consisted of 8 players. Hoping we hear something soon.

Becky Hammon is only 5'6" and she was an 6 time WNBA all star. From what I can tell, Beeman brings a lot to the table from an offensive skills standpoint. Her height might be the only thing that kept her from getting a Division I shot out of high school. The area I would worry most about with a player that height is the defensive end. Teams will try to post he up with bigger guards. But again, it's something the right player can overcome.

Given how many players transferred out of every team in the summit this year (and elsewhere), I don’t think you’re going to have as much of an issue competitiveIy. I think an experienced, smaller guard would fit in very well with what every team is getting in the portal. Denver backfilled their roster with more high school players - who knows if any of them were actual D1 possibilities before they (Denver) got hit with the portal losses.

Another point guard followed by our coaches Good find! But not a transfer. She'd be in the HS class of 2022, I think.
