Well looks like the Yotes will be tested early in a new system under Coach Peterson but I am excited to watch this team. This team has the potential to be very good and I believe they will only get better throughout the year and be playing great basketball by the Summit league tournament. It is way too early to make this prediction but I will anyway: Yotes win their first ever Summit League Tournament Championship. Always good to dream big!!

Men and women playing state on the same day in opposite towns. How many damn times do we have to go over this?!
Looks like a true mirror. Every single game is like that. Another year of having to pick which team you are going to watch each Thursday/Saturday.

Another year of having to pick which team you are going to watch each Thursday/Saturday. No crap. Aren't the ADs of all the Dakota 4 schools communicating this to the new commish? Basically costing them a couple of sellouts or near-sellouts. Sheesh.

The league office will say that the reason for mirror scheduling is because the members want it. So, which members are better off as a result of it?

I’m sure the rest of the league would rather not admit that the Dakota rivalries are the marquee events of the league. They would rather see everyone have dismal attendance than one or two schools have sellouts. The non Dakotas already hate that it’s a Dakota centric league to begin with.

If the league insists on mirrored scheduling, then for the two in-state rivalries it would be as easy as having these games on a Saturday and Sunday (instead of both on Saturday). This would have zero impact on travel/academics/whatever you want to blame.
Those who would benefit: Fans, players, schools, local businesses, conference
Those who would be harmed: Extra roadkill?

It makes me wonder - why can't we just do that? What prevents the two AD's from simply moving one of the games to a Sunday?

We should "have to" move the games to the same facility due to facility "issues" like a "leaky roof" or "broken air conditioner". Who's to say we're telling "alternative truths"?

I’m in the same camp, put one of the games on Saturday and one on Sunday for the rivalries. The new commish talked a lot about building the league brand, and they only way to build it is by ensuring that your marquee events aren’t competing against each other. I really mean no hate to anyone outside of the 4 Dakota schools but our rivalries are the only true ones in the league currently. I get that the new commish doesn’t want to play favorites but if you want to build a brand utilize the gift that you already have in the SDSU/USD and NDSU/UND match ups. Use those games as a launch pad don’t make them compete with one another for attention. Or schedule them when no one is able to attend such as holidays (see the ND schedules).

Hell, you don't even have to "play favorites". Just allow each team to play their travel partner in that modified Saturday-Sunday format. (if they choose to) NDSU/UND and SDSU/USD are really the only travel partners close enough to each other where it will matter, though. Maybe ORU/KC for a handful of super-fans that want to attend both games.

I was thinking more along the lines of, "due to an anticipated weather event..."
