The reasons the future looks poor
1. 2022 schedule (4-7 prediction) - Love the crystal ball that predicts the future, why play the games if the future is already in stone?? Wow, that's not quite the mind frame an athlete (or former) should think. Yes the schedule is extremely difficult, especially in the beginning, but come on.... why even go thru summer training if it's already decided?
2. Multiple coaching changes (lost the most liked coaches on the staff) - who cares, they have some terrific guys there that replaced them! Happens in college ball.
3. Last year of the HC contract - stated in a previous post!!
4. The athletic department support staff hates the football staff according to HR - this is my favorite one and one that is a BIG FAT who cares!! Everyone hates FOOTBALL, EVERYONE except FOOTBALL. Football is the always the big bad wolf of the athletic department and gets everything and is entitled. Largest group of men, have strong egos and opinions, very demanding because they are usually the most structured program of all the athletic teams because of the volume of players, and need an abundance of resources to do their job effectively. This is across every college/university in the country!! Need to be told to quit whining and DO THEIR JOB! I'm sure there are some instances, but it's there job to support the teams. No MATTER WHAT!!
Other interesting issues in the program confirmed by the team and supporters
1. Lost the DFO - New DFO has no clue - Last time I looked a DFO doesn't win or lose football games
2. The new DFO is the son-in-law of a big donor and is never in the office - so now we are time clocking the staff, that's the HC's job. If he's ok with it, we should be ok with it.
3. Defensive Coordinator is hated by the team and all the support staff - Highly Unlikely based off what I know and make sure to poll everyone instead of a select few.
4. Multiple big donors want a change at the HC - WHO IS RUNNING THE SHOW??? They give $$ and let the coaches coach and players play. Start a travel baseball or AAU basketball team if they want to coach. This ain't LSU or USC
5. While at a game this year I watched staff members verbally attack the medical staff on the sideline - If you played, you know stuff goes down on the sideline, player to player, player to coach, coach to coach, coach to support staff, etc... Stuff happens and you move forward. Wow, have we gotten soft, time to call HR!!
6. The list is longer but you get the point Just stop gaslighting!! Yes, there are issues in every athletic program EVERYWHERE and coaches that certain factions of the team don't like. If we pointed out every flaw in every team in sports, we would say no one has a chance to win.
These issues must be address for the program to take the next step. - Then let them do their job! There are some very talented individuals and leaders on this football team and it's exciting to see how they will attack this schedule together this fall. Support them, don't just unveil all the negatives. When we all played ball (whenever that was) it wasn't always perfect or pretty, didn't like everyone and actually hated a few, but we survived and thrived in most cases. And most important, dealt with stuff good or bad and are now better because of it!
As a former Yote and supporter it hurts me to post this information.
