Midco Sports Plus app is available outside of their network coverage area. posted too quickly Wait, it's not available outside of coverage area??? From the apps FAQ's "Do I need to be a Midco customer to get Midco Sports Plus? No. Midco Sports Plus is a standalone product and you do not need to have any other Midco services." You'll still need ESPN+ to watch football. Midco Sports Plus will include 6 of them at least.

Sorry for the confusion, I realized I had answered a question that Yotes did not ask. That's why I did the strike-through.
I will let myself out now, carry on!

Don't apologize for trying to help another! Does anyone know if the Midco Plus app can be used on Google Chromecast? The press release suggests not, and I don't own the devices listed in the press release. Going to be even less enthused if I have to buy a new device to watch these games, on top of $10 per month for the subscription.

At minimum there is web-based online streaming interface (a website), so if you have access to a browser of any kind you should be good. I think…

We will just have to test it out and report to the group.
If anyone has success sharing subscriptions, I definitely do NOT want to hear about how to do it in my DMs.
Because that would be wrong.

My family is looking at ways to save money. Right now I'm thinking of: dumping my HULU Live ($70/month- will be $77 in October), keeping ESPN+ ($10/month, will be $11 in October)for football and some other leagues/sports, adding MidCoSN+ ($10/month) for Summit League Network, some MVFC football adding a TV antenna in my garage (connected to my coaxial lines) for local channels/news for a net savings of $67 per month (first month pays for the antenna). Will suck to lose ESPN, but if you have to cut something... I choose Summit BB/VB and MVFC football over some other sports and teams.

For your ESPN content you can always go to those shady websites that host the game for free. Sometimes they even work better than the legal streaming options. Just don't click any ads and make sure you've got anti-virus software.
Not that I would condone such a thing. Depriving billionaires of another dollar and such.

Looks like St Thomas figured out something locally to get some games on TV... St. Thomas inks first ever broadcast TV deal Tommies sign expansive broadcast contract with FOX 9+
From the article: So it sounds like a handful of events will have an "onsite reporter" from Fox. But otherwise the programming will remain as student play-by-play. I'd at least call this an opportunity to expand the fan base, and an opportunity to expand Summit content to MSP viewers. Midco Sports would be better, though. They would hire a designated "UST guy (or gal)" to do play-by-play, analysis and reporting, just like they do with their other school partners. And adding more sports like volleyball would be better too. Baby steps.

Getting some games on an over-the-air broadcast available to 3-4 million people is a very good thing for St Thomas and their leagues.
Agreed on the need to step up from a student broadcast team though.
