Anybody else thankful we're off this weekend? Really needed a break from the gauntlet.
I'm watching UND vs Missouri State. Missouri State is over hyped this year.

I understand why everyone thinks that way but bear in mind they led Arkansas deep into the 4th quarter just a couple weeks ago. Their QB is dangerous.
I hope you’re right but my gut tells me it’s not a talent issue but something else going on, that if it gets fixed, would be troublesome.

Yes, I feel the bye week came at a great time for us more mentally than physically. Hopefully the staff was majorly evaluating the strengths and more importantly the weakness through the first four games. There are some major holes schematically that showed out in these first four games that needed to be addressed to give our players the best possible situation to be successful on the field. Yes, we played 3 extremely high level competitors, so they will expose and amplify those holes, but it gives the next 2-3 opponents a template to work from in their game plan vs us.
I really think defensively, it’s about defending the play-action and vertical passing game. We seem to defend the run well and have answers when a team does get a few on us. We tend to defend the drop back passing game ok too. But we have given up too many explosive deep passes. Overall, our defense has been extremely stout and has a handful of very talented athletes that make big plays when needed. Definitely in our last two losses (Montana & NDSU), played well enough to give us a chance to win those games. Very good start to a rough schedule early.
I think offensively, hopefully we have figure out who are the top playmakers on the team and see in the first four games if the ball has been distributed to them. The only position that can get guaranteed touches is the running back and we have a very good one, but did we try to get those other best players involved in a variety of ways through design. I’ve rewatched all of our games and the answer is “absolutely not” and very frustrating to decipher because we struggle to move the ball because we aren’t able to get big chunk plays. If you look at our statistics, it tells a major story and one that we cannot be happy with as an offense. We only have two really good WRs and one is an All MVFC player that has 4 touches in four games, where other teams have gotten their All MVFC guys the ball 20-25 touches in four games, that’s embarrassing. Truly hope we have some answers because the schedule doesn’t get any easier as we move forward.
We really do have a nice team if it clicks and we don’t make too many dumb mistakes, so I’m excited about the next portion of the season.

Lot of individual talent, but there's a reason why the 26 transfers on their two deep are on their third and some even fourth school. That from the MIDCO announcers of the UND game.
