Definitely going to be an interesting season. Only thing I know for sure is the Jack's are the likely favorite to repeat as WNIT champs. Well, then here is hoping that ORU represents the SL well at the big dance.

That would be another year the Jackrabbits come a bit short of the hope and aspiration. However, they did a decent job of making lemonade out of the lemons that were delivered. Right now, the point guard position has been handed over to freshmen as injury has 2 point guards watching from the sideline. Hopefully the Jackrabbits can manage better than a year ago with a 4-7 OOC start which found more than a couple of injuries. Meanwhile, has there ever been a back to back WNIT winner?

A (relatively) healthy Hempe could be a real boon to this team. Nice. A healthy Hempe this year is 1st Team All Summit according to me.

This SL season is pretty intriguing to me: > USD had bench last year that likely would have finished 3rd in the SL. How will they respond from injuries and/or being the focus of the opponent's defense? How long will it take to gel? And what will Coach K's identity be with this group? > SDSU has a ton of name recognition returning, and the WNIT run helps with that. Clearly should be the pre-season favorite. That said, it is not at all clear to me they will be any better than they were last year - just older, and likely will have the same weaknesses. Can they find some athleticism to stay with the strong OOC schedule? Did USD give everyone a blueprint on how to slow them down (held under 50 twice)? How many jokes will be made about Selland having a sponsorship deal with and old-folks-home? > It is certainly possible that both SD schools end the OOC portion of the schedule without a great looking resume. Since the SL looks to be pretty weak, will it be a 1-bid conference by mid December? > It sure looks like it will be a 2-team race, but someone will get 3rd. Who? Will it be someone who can get hot and knock off a SD team in the SLT? > I'm also curious how WVU does.
