What is the count on coordinators on both sides (O and D)?
This level of turn over has to be killing player development for the NFL other than Special Teams. I've heard 1 year low paying contracts and inexperience are holding the program back. Rumors say TS was the key pro contact not Ed. Are the BOR and therefore the program still running a D-II mentality at D-I? If The U of South Dakota isn't going to be a national household name academically and athletically, we should have moved to the NAIA.
As powerful an athlete as Noah was, was he polished/developed enough for the NFL, and he seems to be an unknown in CFL. Was the greatest face of the program promoted to all pro teams or was there not enough experience and contacts in our coaching? Are they doing anything to help him now?
Who is pro worthy now and are they being promoted? Are there Pack members organized to help? You can't even buy a USD jersey anywhere. Are we waiting for the new logo or until we are in the Valley?

In terms of Noah, he was definitely promoted at the next level, no doubt about that. Saying much a player is looked at by the NFL usually has nothing to do with the coaches, it's the NFL scouts who determine who they are going to look at. A lot of them have it in their mind who is good or not, unlike baseball. Noah maybe an unknown in the CFL because he might not be good enough to play there, honestly. There are quarterbacks who are very well known who have done nothing with their careers, too - Matt Leinart comes to mind. Is it because he wasn't developed by his coaches? No one would say that when he was at USD.
As for the turnover with the coaches, well I can't really answer that one, but coaches are key in a players development honestly. Seems like the players on defense improved the most when Jarod Dodson was around.
There are pro days in Vermillion when NFL scouts come down and looks at players, and USD shows them a lot of players honestly. I remember Ryan Routh was one a few years ago who was at the pro day too.

I'll reiterate. Coaches leave USD because they are good coaches who are moving up in the coaching ranks. USD, being an FCS school, is a stepping stone not a destination. Start worrying when none of our assistants are moving on or wanted by any other schools. That would mean we have bad coaches.

It's a coordinators position. It's a step up from a position coach.
All of the coaches who have left USD have been coordinators who have gotten head coaching positions (whether D3 or NAIA) or moved up a level or position coaches who have gotten coordinator positions. Those are steps up in the profession.
I see we had a coach come over from NDSU this season. NDSU to USD, a step up.
