Yep, those are the two stats that stand out to me, as well.  They are only committing 13 personal fouls a game (#10 NCAA).  And as far as 3-point shooting:

24.0 3PT Attempts (#59)
8.1 3PT makes (#42)
33.9% 3PT (#87)

Their big 3PT attempts numbers are not amplified by a high-pace style, either.  They are an average-pace team at 71.4 possessions a game (#184) (we are a below-average pace team, 69.6 #251).  Nothing too exciting there.  Hopefully shutting down their perimeter will be a reasonable task, especially considering we are guard-heavy.  Having NAA back should help there.  She is pretty fast and aggressive on D.

Montana does a few things poorly (statistically speaking) we could potentially take advantage of:

They are only shooting 37.6 from the floor (#265), so buckets inside the arc aren't coming as easy as they should.  That could help with us putting some resources on the perimeter?

Several defensive stats are poor.  They are allowing:
69.8 PPG (#273)
41.9% FG (#262)
35.3% 3PT (#315)

Turnover numbers aren't great either:
16.9 Turnovers (#200)
12.4 Forced TO (#338)
-4.5 TO ratio (#314)
5.4 steals (#331)

This should be a good "get right" game, but who knows.

Looking back at the Lady Griz’s schedule so far they’ve played NDSU and UND both in Missoula. They lost 65-63 to NDSU and won 82-77 against the fighting somethings. We don’t have any common opponents that we’ve played yet this season so it’s hard to say how we stack up. This will be another good opportunity to see where we stand against summit competition though as both Games against UND and NDSU were close games.

This should be a game we win but let’s hope that the SCSC provides some extra comfort for this team. Going into this game we have yet to win against a D1 opponent at home this season. This is a good opportunity to patch some holes in the ship and stop the sinking. A loss here, imo, could spell disaster for the teams morale.

Another 2nd quarter drought being out scored 30-6. Whatever is happening in the 2nd quarter we need to fix. Giving up 30 points in a quarter to Montana at home?!

We’re setting some new records just not good ones. After this game we have now lost 5 in a row for the first time since moving to D1.

After looking at the box score, I'll say it again...those that are getting a lot of minutes and/or starting that shoot 14% on a semi-regular basis is concerning.

Not to throw gas on the fire but I think at some point you have to question our coaching hire. I was excited about K and mostly still am but we DO NOT play defense. Are we not coaching it or is it the players not doing what their told. Inexperience and injury are certainly playing into it but we will end up sub 500 in the league the way we are going.

This has turned into a lost rebuild year. It's pretty disappointing given what we've been accustomed to for 10+ years. I have to believe next year will be as well unless we get some really good players coming in. K should and will get the benefit of the doubt in building her team but we have a long way to go. We'll see how patient the fan base can be. They will turn before the administration will. I am hopeful but concerned at the same time. Buckle up for a rough few years.

Too much talk about shooting woes! There will always be times 3s especially won't drop but you HAVE to play good D EVERY time to be really successful! And really good D is a lot of work.

Not just talking about this team but, another thing that bugs me is not having proper form in shooting FTs. You'd think by college there would be better technique. Successful FT shooters don't shoot the ball flat, and they have good touch not just slamming it up there. Like everything else in life, it needs to be taught then practiced.

Obviously, this team has some good Qs and some bad Qs so they know, and we know they can play well but as Coach K said in the presser it has to be for 4 Qs!!

How after the last several years defense was great have we stooped to no defense. Going to be a sad few seasons ahead. 10 yrs. of great defense to this. I believe paychecks are way too high for this group.
