That poorly timed slump near the end almost did us in, but a win is a win. Feels good to pick one up on the road.

I’m still not sure about rotations. No offense to any player as they all work their butts off. I just don’t understand playing a guy who is zero offensive threat when you have a guy on the bench that can hit 3’s. Glad to get the win tonight and hope they continue the streak.

Who is zero offensive threat? I can only think of Demani Hayes, but they play totally different roles.

We are still not very well coached on offense. I don't know what we run outside of pick and pop. Maybe that is dictated by our current personnel but we do a LOT of standing around, especially when AJ isn't on the floor. The ball tends to stick for extended periods too. That leads to poor shot selection.

Saw this:
So, I went back and looked. I'm not so sure this isn't the rare occasion where the officials were right and the announcers were wrong. Thoughts? My take - on the zoomed in replay, given the shadows and that Mason's fingers don't move, it sure appears his hand is in between the shooter's elbows. It looks like he was trying to block his vision, not the ball. I also don't see the shooter's arm move before or after there would have been contact, FWIW. I'm not saying his pinky finger didn't touch his forearm at some point - you can't tell from this angle. But the ref on the baseline would have had a perfect view.

It certainly wasn't nearly as clear as many in Grand Forks believe it was and I say that as a firm member of the always protect the shooter camp. Granted, it seems that kid doesn't ever miss like that without getting fouled. What a shooter.

Foul or no foul- We've been on the other end of that a time or two, so I'm not going to make apologies or put an asterisk next to that W.

Also, he was 1-for-5 from the stripe on the night. Not so sure he's hitting two to tie it there anyway.

I think a good “rule of thumb” is to not count on a ref’s call to bail you out in the waning seconds. Count on hitting the shot. If it’s a close call they generally swallow the whistle in that situation… Like when Hannah was mauled by three players at the end of regulation in a tied game we all might remember…

FWIW Earlier in the game a ND player was "fouled" on a 3 pt attempt and looked like was barely touched. I thought flop right away but didn't go back and look at it...

That was my thought last night when I looked at it, but really is impossible to tell. For a member of the media to be whining about it is pretty low class. Notice that he's not mentioning that UND shot more free throws and had significantly fewer fouls whistled on them even though they were playing from behind when usually the opposite is true. If you have the lead the worst thing is to give the other team the opportunity to score with the clocked stopped.
