In addition to Josh Davis leaving the SDSU staff to become the OC at USD, David Braun is leaving his DC position with NDSU to become the DC at Northwestern & Bobby Petrino is leaving his position as HC at Missouri State to become the OC at UNLV and then changed his mind now going to be the OC at Texas A&M. This Argus Leader article includes a hint that a SDSU coach could retire.

Have heard a lot of rumors this was coming ever since Frisco. I had figured this was a possibility a while ago. He is at the right age and has nothing left to prove. May as well go out on top.

Between this news of the Jooser retiring and half of NDSU's team in the transfer portal this is turning out to be a pretty good day. I see opportunities for USD to move up the conference ladder as these other programs decline.

I figured you would be the USD advocate for dumping the FB program altogether and pushing that money into the BB programs.

You either are purposefully misrepresenting his words or woefully oblivious to FCS football's popular appeal. Probably both.

Well well well the Bison faithful are getting their wish. Entz is resigning at the end of the season to head to USC. Who do we think will be tabbed to replace him? Roehl? From what I’ve heard none of them are particularly fan favorites but I do see NDSU attempt to keep it in house.

I've heard Vigen (Montana St), ex NDSU assistant as a possibility.

I'm not sure of the history, just passing on info I heard from a friend who is an NDSU fan. He had heard about Vigen before the news today. So who knows?

Interesting timing on Entz's announcement as it is exactly one week after the NDSU NIL collective had an emergency meeting the preceding Sunday. Entz was in attendance at the meeting and was looking for dollars to keep a handful of current Bison from accepting 6 figure NIL deals from Power 4 schools. Now he is heading the Power 4 route. Have to wonder if any of the Bison defense starters will follow him to USC? Also, might see a coach or two from the current defensive staff follow him to get their foot in the door at USC?

This might be a little thread drift, but I was surprised talking with some NDSU fans on Saturday. How do I paraphrase this, basically, there team was playing out of their mind that day because too many of their guys were playing for fat NIL paydays. The fans know what is coming and they are not happy.
Maybe a bit pessimistic but there might be at least a little grain of truth there.
My response was that I thought it was futile for us FCS schools to try to play the NIL game. No matter what we do we cannot compete when the big boys come knocking with 6 figure paydays for our players. Secondly, based on how we were playing today, we might be safe from getting pillaged by NIL offers from the big boys.
