I’m wondering if Davis gets some latitude with the offensive staff. Lots of Schlafke guys still on the staff.

Timing seems about right to me. Just over a week since Davis took over. He has the right to build his own staff.
Hopefully those let go will have time to find new employment. Wish them well. I’m honestly a little surprised we didn’t see more staff from that side of the ball leave already for fear the new OC would want to bring in some fresh ideas.

The OL coach should have been gone 2 years ago, so good riddance.

Starting to get concerned that we still do not have an Oline or WR coach in place yet.
The OC hire was a bit late but can justify that with the national championship game.
Took two weeks after to fire Paopao and Prevost which apparently was a shock to many.
Usually you have a hire in place shortly after… this is getting to the point where you look at who’s available (or should I say who is left) and are they better than what we jus had.

What do you mean by "who is available"? This isn't free agency, where you can only hire guys who aren't under contract. Most position coaches aren't on multiple year contracts at the D2, FCS level and don't have penalties for leaving for another job. Most FBS schools only offer position coaches 2 year contracts. It's not like we can only hire coaches that aren't currently working for another program. We can hire anybody we want to, regardless of their current employment status. I'm sure there is a list of candidates that have been vetted and interviewed but it's just not known to the public. |

My understanding that they have the coaching positions filled, but haven't announced them. I don't understand why they wouldn't make the announcement. Just makes very little sense...not like it's a state secret or anything. Also heard a rumor that another coach resigned and moved up the ladder to an FBS school.

Should not announce in public until they tell the team. When do they have team meetings? If they have hired it's good leadership to tell the team first.

It honestly feels like this whole process has just been a "let's find somebody that will take the job" kind of situation. I'm desperately waiting for some kind of news or information that makes me think we'll be competitive next season
