Unfortunately, I don't see a scenario where we win this one.

Unfortunately, I don't see a scenario where we win this one. It's pretty unlikely that we win this game, but I still like the men's chances better than the women's.

Played well early and then the Frost officiating turned the game. Pretty typical for up there

Down 2 half. We fought and shot well from outside despite typical frost officials. Probably as well as we can play.

Refs missed mayo taking 4 steps on his 3 that effectively ended the game. We'll played game on both sides. Sucks to lose it

Ugh. That last minute was a gut punch. I thought we had them. Good fight I guess.

That was a tough loss, it was there for the taking. I thought the guys did a great job of fighting through the one run the Jacks had in the 1st half.
Keep working and get ready for Sioux Falls, we can give some people fits in March, outside of ORU, of course.

That was the team I thought we'd see all year. We played with intensity the ENTIRE game. For whatever reason we just haven't been able to do that consistently. Offensively we are a different team when AJ is in attack mode. Part of that has been foul trouble, but part of it I think is him feeling out his limitations. He went to the basket more last night than he has all year and we were able to capitalize when teams closed out too hard. This state team is nothing special but their size still poses a significant problem that we haven't been able to overcome. Last night, there were at least a half dozen times where the jumped over our backs for rebounds. I personally would have called fouls, but the fact that we're undersized allows them to get away with it. It allowed multiple second chance points and really was the difference in the game. We held our own in the second half on the boards but got absolutely handled in the first.
Coach Peterson was also more fired up last night than I've seen him all year. He channeled his inner Todd Lee for a few minutes but backed off before the refs could T him up. He looks more like himself now and I'm sure the injury has had something to do with that.
We were a different bunch last night. It's too bad it hasn't been like that all year.

Two things killed us. 1st half we got killed on the boards and it led to too many 2nd (or 3rd) chance points.
I thought we were a little too committed to switching. There were a handful of times, including on that final 3 that was the dagger, where the switch was unnecessary 40 feet from the basket. They could’ve fought thru it or just gone under. Instead we allowed them to dictate the matchup and now Mayo has a forward on him rather than a guard. He starts to drive, defender backing up, he pulls up, can’t recover and it’s over.

That was a mental error as much as anything. Down 1 you absolutely can not let thru shoot a 3. If they get 2 the game was still within reach, although a smart coach fouls under 5 seconds so you can't get a 3 off either. The glass was the difference in the game. We played well enough offensively and defensively to win. We just couldn't make the clutch buckets in the end, mostly because we were undersized attacking the rim.
