They had 9 players dress the other night and Haydon played.
I've heard rumblings that a 10th player MAY be dressing today...👀

Terrible performance. Granted, Denver's coach's constant whining paid off with the Pioneers being awarded numerous phantom and 1's, but the Yotes really let the game slip away.
Also, the last foul call on Guebert, when the Denver player pinned her arm in, was huge as we could have used Guebert's steady presence in the last 3 minutes of thge game.

There were quite a few phantom foul calls that went against. Not enough that we should have lost. Once again. No defense. At least we're consistent.

And we pass up open looks on O in the name of controlling the pace. Maybe that's smart. I dunno but it drives me crazy

Coaching the last 3 minutes of the game was awful. Heard several people say they need to go to coaching school. Officiating was definitely in Denvers favor but down 2 with 45 seconds to go and you intentionally foul their best shooter. Oh well.

I would have coached to foul, but nit necessarily that player though. Down 1 you play it out, run them off the 3 point line and guarantee you are only down 1 possession with 15 seconds left. If they go up two scores at that point the odds are really against you. It comes down to execution. The defense absolutely collapses on grace when she gets down low and no one rotates to give her a passing lane. It is what it is. Learn from it and move on.

There were 37 seconds left, she’s not their best FT shooter and she was 5-9 at the time. I’d be much more concerned about the turnover at that moment than the decision to foul.

Turnovers have killed us all year. It’s one of those head scratching items that usually starts to improve throughout the season with young players but for whatever reason it’s not.

Well, multiple things can be true at once. I can still say (like I did this week) that in some respects it's amazing they've done this well. But I can also say that yesterday was one of the worst defensive performances I've seen from a Coyote WBB team in the SCSC.
Denver got whatever they wanted. They bullied the Yotes on dribble drives, got key offensive rebounds, got to the line, and got wide-open looks from the arc. Denver didn't even shoot that well. If they had, they would've put up 90-plus and it would not have been tight in the last couple of minutes. Denver shot 8-30 from deep and 17-29 from the line. When you give up 79 on your home floor and the opponent didn't shoot well, that means you had some problems on that day.
I thought the Yotes handled their pressure pretty well. But it was designed to wear them out and to try to get the ball out of Grace's hands. When the Yotes got stops and got out into transition they created many good looks. But the half-court has gotten worse as other teams focus on Grace and force others to be creators, and that is something that is in short supply at the moment.
Tough loss.
