Just a silly poll to pass the time in the offseason... I used to buy a lot more fireworks, but now my kids are older, and we just go to our neighbor's "show". Let them spend the money and take on the liability to entertain us. I'm happy to contribute to the clean up afterward. I have a lot of fond memories of the Custer fireworks show - we always camped over the 4rth at Center Lake in the State Park. The night sky is so dark in the hills, and they really shot the fireworks close to the ground. Dangerous but fun! I now also have a lot of unpleasant memories of my dogs being completely terrified for three or four straight days of booms. So I can understand both perspectives, pro and con. The bottom line for me anymore is the expense. No thanks. I have a male teen driver with expensive insurance. That's enough to buy. I'm glad others are willing to pay for my entertainment, though. And our current dog isn't fazed by the sound, either. So that's fun. BOOM!

Our anniversary and my wife's b-day both fall in the same week as the 4th, so I have higher spending priorities. At least that's what she tells me.

I like to buy those little novelties for the house. Sparklers, smoke bombs, snappers, snakes, etc. Whimsical things for the driveway.
No interest in a fireworks show currently. Once the kids get older I'm sure I'll go back, but I swear that if you've seen one show you have seen them all.
