This should be another tune up game, but we’ll need to be better on offense than we were against St. Thomas. They give up a ton of rushing yards, so this may be a final opportunity to nut up and develop a running game before we head up to Fargo. That said, I’d like to see us use the short passing game to our Wes Welker clones a little more as well.
On offense, they’re balanced but unremarkable. Our best strategy should be to shut down the run and force them to pass against our talented secondary.

1-10 last year but played FBS UL-Monroe very tough last weekend.
No such thing as a tune up game for this USD team. Not after the "tune up" game last weekend.

With a new coach and a bunch of new players, I think Lamar is more competitive than they've been the past few years, but I do expect the win at home. Their schedule so far has been against two solid teams, so maybe thinking this is going to be a cakewalk is a set up for disappointment. It should be, as was said above, a great chance to make strides, show improvements where needed and just overall get better.

It's best to play each opponent like they're the toughest team in the nation. Don't disrespect or disregard anyone or look past any opponent.
If teams would always do this they'd probably have more success, but it's difficult to have this focus week after week.
Prepare well and play your best!
GO YOTES!!!

Lamar seems improved based on these early results. If they have a new coach and a new roster that can change a team very quickly. Guess that's college football now. Not sure we can claim this opponent is any easier than the last, which is where I thought things were heading into the season.
Still expecting a win. This team hasn't earned the right to overlook anyone (if that ever happens). Hope we get a more complete performance and a W on Saturday.

I should have chosen my words better. Lamar is not a cupcake and they can beat us, but they shouldn’t. A loss would very much diminish our playoff hopes. A win will hopefully allow us to continue our search for an offensive identity before heading up to Fargo as heavy underdogs.

There's a saying I like that goes "Practice like you've never won, play like you've never lost"

Sacramento State? Carson Camp isn’t starting for them.
