For the sliver of time we had the ball we could move it - hopefully we’ll hold onto it on this second drive. One TD puts us up and I’ll trade TDs for FGs all day.

306 yards rushing. Just saying. No need to F around with teams like this.

Yotes took care of business 2nd half on D and pounding the rock on offense! Great game by Nate and Travis and the O line 2nd half!

3 games in and I have no idea if we're any good. After watching the game today I would say I am more impressed with st Thomas. Defensively, they put up a better fight than lamar.

Non-scholarship Ivy League Harvard smoked the Tommies today. So there is that.
Yotes played the best half of football the second half they have played all season. So something to build on. That's the team I expected to see this year.

Honestly I’m not sure what will ever make anyone on this board happy. Games are 4 quarters long. Yes Lamar took opening drive and held it for a long time. We intercept the ball then lose it on interception return. They finally end up kicking a field goal.
We literally had 2 possessions the first half. Scored on half of them. The 2nd half we one hundred percent dominated Lamar. Over 300 yards rushing. Long kick returns. Blocked field goal attempt. Bouman sharp 2nd half. Played with fire and emotion. Won by 29.
That is a solid game. I’m pumped about todays game. Nate Thomas was awesome. Theis was Theis. A bull.
This is a damn good win.

Nationally ranked Kansas State loses to Missouri, a team we played toe to toe with for 35-40 minutes.

This was a good game. A decisive win against a D1 opponent. I'm hoping the offense turned a corner in the second half. But as another poster said above, I really have no idea how good our team is. None of the games we've played thus far are any kind of measuring stick. MIZZOU should have beat us and they did. We should have rolled both St. Thomas and Lamar, we did that too. I'm happy with what I've seen so far, but let's string together some conference wins.

I think that, due to the nature of the teams we have played so far, we have yet to see the true identity of our offense. I believe the short-intermediate passing game will be our bread and butter.
I’ve consistently said that our D will give us a shot to win EVERY game in our schedule. I stand by that.

random thoughts for whatever they're worth:
- scored on five of our six possessions (not counting the one with 51 seconds at the end of the first half) - defense was outstanding keeping Lamar out of the endzone especially in the first twenty minutes when they were on the field almost the entire time - the interception/fumble was unfortunate as Lamar basically benefitted from getting a fresh set of downs and closer to the goal line to boot (see above) - running game was really fun to watch (this Nate Thomas guy is pretty good) - really like the two back sets - only throwing nine passes was a testament to how good the running game was - defensive line is also pretty good (seven sacks) - loved the all-red look, would hope that could become a constant at home (all-white on the road) - wish everyone who buys tickets and/or comes to Verm to tailgate would come inside to watch the games (just don't get that) - looking at their first two games, I think Lamar is better than some on here are giving them credit for - or giving us enough credit for how we handled them - was kind of hoping to see Lem Wash at QB on our last possession - some of our fans would bitch if they were hung with a new rope

I am happy with how we ran the ball, but we need to keep in mind that Lamar is TERRIBLE at run defense. We’ll have to be balanced moving forward. Nate Thomas right now btw: youtu.be/Y45PQG1Pu3c?si=s01G9dDQWXM6GJ-u

That 1st half was rough, but props to the defense for spending all that time out there and still keeping Lamar out of the endzone.
Our two backs averaged like 8 yards per carry. That's pretty crazy. Don't stop until they stop it. Would have been nice to see a 3rd or 4th back out there but our top two guys should have all the confidence they need.
Definitely feels like a good win. Lamar has more teeth than they did last year, topping them by 29 feels good.
Next is a bye then a trip to Fargo. Always wondered why the conference takes its bye before conference play begins, rather than in the 2nd half of the season. NDSU absolutely whipped EWU, Maine, and Central Arkansas, three teams that have been good FCS teams recently if memory serves. Hands will be full in that one.
