I was on the board 9-10 years ago but left because of the sheer amount of arrogance. So little discussion, so much bashing others. I hope it has improved. I just started reading a few years ago and there's not much bashing anymore. Maybe a new mod that doesn't allow it? He seems to rule with an iron fist. Still plenty of arrogance though. I agree with Yote53...the YSU/USD thread is entertaining to say the least. Sounds like we're really in for it on Saturday.

You peaked my curiosity so I wandered over to game thread on the AGS. They really do see themselves as equals to NDSU and us some lowly program that got a fluke win.

Even in our bad years, YSU has been closer to the Yotes than they have to NDSU, outside of maybe the year Pelini took them to the championship game.

I mean, they WERE pretty dominant in the Jim Tressel years, winning four 1-AA championships in the 90s. So that's something we haven't done. They also used to sell out their 20K stadium regularly. Obviously they are not that anymore. But arrogance (pride) carries over for a long time in a fan base, it seems. I see them similarly to UNI, or Nebraska. Pining for the glory days, and still thinking they are elite. Not that I'm giving them an excuse for being arrogant @-holes. F those guys.

Would you believe that is their only playoff appearance since 2006? They have less playoff appearances than we do since USD went D1.

It does seem that it is mostly just one YSU message board warrior and a salty NDSU mouth breather exuding arrogance in that thread. I’d register to correct them, but it’s not worth my time. I’ll let our team shut them up.

Sold tickets map is very different this morning, more than 3/4 full now IMO (at least in terms of sold tickets).
Be loud! Let’s go!

Anyone find a Vegas line?
Yotes 26-24 (Massey) ‘Guins 23-22 (Sagarin regular method) Yotes -9 (Sagarin other method)
I read an SI article and Hero Sports article that both picked YSU

I think we'll see a more engaged crowd than we had last week. It was pretty hard getting up for 3rd down when we were up by 3 scores most of the game.

That's probably fair. We haven't earned anything better. Basically a tie with the advantage to the home team.

We look like a pretty good football team. My only complaint so far is the coverage in the secondary. They have had a few players running wide open, but we've been bailed out by poor throws or the officials. I know they have some good receivers, but our players seem to be covering an area as opposed to a player in that area. That coverage matching is critical to making a good defense a great one. Otherwise your only hope is for the pass rush to get home. We've been good covering the flats, but it's the area behind the linebackers and in front of the safeties that is the problem.
I know I'm full of recency bias, but there better be some back channel promises to Josh Davis being made. That dude took the same players as last year and made us an effective offense.
