The league announced the 13 games (9regular season) that will be broadcast on CBS sports. All league school except Denver will have at least one game broadcast on the network. x.com/thesummitleague/status/1714703107299434831?s=46&t=aRVSPVCmVMYW1Pml1A_z2w It does seem like the league could’ve maybe cut one of the 5 SDSU games to at least include all league members but idk how the scheduling works so maybe they really couldn’t get a Denver game onto the schedule. Not that I care either way, but for DU fans I imagine it’s kind of a slap in the face unless DU has some different media deal.

If I had to guess, I'd bet that CBS had the ability to choose what they broadcast with few restrictions, other than maybe being forced to broadcast a minimum number of women's games? I'm sure they have some way of predicting what games will actually draw eyeballs at the national level, and hence, advertising dollars. JMO. If they were forced to include all Summit teams equally, they might not have signed off on that.

I have Midco but don't subscribe to the +Midco TV Sports package. I believe I would need to add that option to get that station and many others I haven't needed in the 2 years I've had Midco. Probably not happening. I already subscribe to ESPN+ as well as Midco SN to keep up with USD and other conference games.

With the switch now to CBS this is where the SL network comes in correct? I’m not sure how this really benefits the conference by reducing the number of potential viewers to only those with access to the SL network and airing only select games on a larger platform.

I’m not sure how this really benefits the conference by reducing the number of potential viewers to only those with access to the SL network and airing only select games on a larger platform. I mean, look at the situation we had before, with home games for four schools (Denver, UND, NDSU, SDSU) all locked behind four separate paywalls. And schools who chose to provide free content were only getting the benefit of a larger audience, but no immediate financial kickback. Now there is at least a single paywall for ALL the games, and (I don't know the details) I assume all the schools are getting a share of the profits on that paywall. For Summit fans, this is far better IMHO. For national exposure to more casual fans, it's probably worse. But we still have the non-conference games and Summit League Tournament games for national exposure. That's probably where the casual, non-Summit fans would be seeing us anyway. Another thing to consider is the relationship CBS Sports has with the NCAA tournament.... They are more college-basketball-centric in their coverage. Always have been.

Very fair points. From the SL fan perspective it’s a good deal. I’m sure there must be more benefit than any of us know otherwise I doubt the presidents would’ve agreed to it.
I just dislike paying for more streaming services lol

I just dislike paying for more streaming services lol The only games I would be bummed to miss is Omaha @ USD (could just go to it) and USD @ SDSU (Go to Frost, or a sports bar). Shockingly, the USD/SDSU women's games didn't get picked up, despite both likely being near-sellouts with bad blood. I'll be at the Summit tournament, so no worries about missing those games.... But I also have Hulu Live, so I'll get the games anyway.

I just dislike paying for more streaming services lol I also selfishly dislike this new arrangement because I was already able to watch all these games with services I already had. Now I gotta pay even more for streaming. I'm positive it will bring more money to the schools though.
