That's kind of what I'm saying. Larkins shouldn't have to do that in an exhibition game against that team. Your freshmen and transfers should look exceedingly comfortable against that team. Everybody should be doing a lot of whatever they want against that team outside of your preseason player of the year type candidate, who shouldn't have to play very much.

I disagree to some extent. Larkins needs to get familiar with new/younger players in a game experience. Games are different than any scrimmage. I agree 27 minutes was perhaps somewhat too long.

Im cautiously optimistic about the season but I do agree that grace was in the game too long. In an exhibition i don’t think we should’ve had to rely on her to put up the points she did. In all reality we won’t know exactly what this team is capable of until we get a couple games in against D1 schools but there were promising signs and also some potential not good signs from the game.

I would say I too am in the cautiously optimistic group. It’s hard to put much stock into anything we saw versus a DII team that is picked near the bottom of their conference. I was somewhat nervous with the ease they got by us defensively. The 3pt shooting was pretty abysmal, luckily we didn’t need it to be better. Will be fun to watch how we grow.

This has me VERY concerned. Our inability to guard what should be a lesser caliber of athlete is going to spell big trouble when we get into D1 competition. If we can't guard Wayne State how will we guard ND State? If we can't guard then we better shoot 40%+ from 3 or we will get run out of the gym again this season.

That was my big concern looking at the schedule. I'm not certain a couple of NSIC tuneups at home are the best prep for a Top 25 squad in Omaha in the second official game of the season. I hope the Creighton contest doesn't leave too much of a mark.
