I was in attendance tonight. Legit team win! There's a lot to be excited about. Defense was great in 1st half, and enough to close it out in the second. I think trying to slow down the offense to protect the lead in the 2nd half, took away a lot of the intensity and focus and add in some turnovers, it got a little messy. But this team is deep and has a lot of potential. Looking forward to the remainder of the season. Go Yotes!

This team is long, athletic and did I mention long and athletic! Felt like last year we were one of the smallest and least athletic teams in the league. Very nice change up! Looking forward to the season! Go Yotes!

This team is fun to watch. The speed difference on the perimeter is stark, particularly with Holt and Stewart. They have depth. Isaac Bruns is a player. Kramer is interesting. Thioune is going to be a problem for Summit League posts. My season-ticket partner said he really liked him, and I responded with "I like him Lahat." Thank you, I'll be here all week. Feel free to use that one on signs and t-shirts.🤣
Now, how good is UTRGV? Petey talked up the fact that the WAC was the 12th-rated conference last year. What he failed to mention was UTRGV was picked T-9 (out of 11) in the preseason poll. But, in this era of roster movement, preseason polls are more speculative. I think at the very least you can say that if the Yotes are going to be a good team in the Summit, that's the kind of result you want to see against that team.
Plus, what happened in the 2nd half gives the coaching staff plenty of teaching moments. Fun game last night.

Very deep bench. Thioune is the real deal on both ends of the court. Better days ahead for USD BB

I couldn't be more excited at the moment but part of me is already cynical that we better enjoy the next few years because we'll probably be starting over again in 3 years. Pete will move on to something better and we'll have to hope and pray they get the next coaching hire right. What he has done in a year in terms of roster improvement is nothing short of remarkable. Reminds me a lot of Craig Smith's second year.

I hope it's a great ride

I hope it's a great ride I know I'm as encouraged as I have been in a while. There was one year with AJ and Umude where I was real excited, but that came down with AJ's injury. This does feel a bit like those Smith years though where a suddenly brand new team is looking real good.
