On the Bears's previous game:

The Bears knocked down 14 3-pointers in their season opener versus Hastings (Neb.), with six from senior forward Delaynie Byrne and five by Simental. UNC was efficient too, shooting at a 48.3 percent clip from three.

Sounds like we need to have a solid perimeter defense in this game.  And maybe hit a few 3's of our own.  Either that, or pound them inside.  Whatever is working, I guess.

This is a game this team should win by 10 at home if they are going to be what we think they will be this season. Need a solid defensive effort and we need to get into better Rythm offensively. Good ball movement leading to more assisted buckets and better looks from 3. Would love to see a defensive effort where we hold them under 65 points. If we do those things we win by double digits, if we don't then this is anyone's game. If we come out disinterested, we'll lose by 10.

If they come out disinterested at home (against a team that beat them last year) a game after getting blitzed on the road, they've got big problems.

And that's not to say there won't be execution/shotmaking issues (or whatever). But effort and intensity absolutely should not be ANY KIND OF ISSUE tonight. I voted Yotes by 16. 71-55 or so. I think Larkins and Avila-Ambrosi wreak a little backcourt havoc and get off to a quick start.

That defense was chef’s kiss in the first quarter! That was USD women’s basketball! Hopefully we can keep the intensity up. Well done!

Physical game over all good team defense. I though Hempe DePeter and Mazurek played well nice to have a deep bench

Defense was very solid for 3 Qs. In the 4th UNC attacked the basket a lot more to get some fouls, stop the clock, and it took us a while to adjust to that. Offense will get a lot smoother with more playing time together and will take a little longer with the different combos available but as marco said is sure nice to have a lot of options!!

She's been a sparkplug for this team so far.  Really love her toughness and energy.  Plays a lot bigger than she is because of her strength.  

Carley Dufney has struggled offensively so far this season.  Going to need her big time in these upcoming games!

While Duffney has not scored much, she has done some necessary things on both ends of the floor. She is standing in there and setting screens, she is finding the open shooter, she is closing off the inside on defense, and she is tipping rebounds to other players. She will find her shot, but in the meantime, she’s doing the stuff that you don’t see in the score books.

Agreed. The scoring will come for Duffney at some point.

UNC played at Omaha yesterday and won 82-70...led by 15 at half. Another comparison point comes Monday when they host the Bison.
