It was a tough lost. The team gave a great effort its just didn't happen . Our coach showed a lot of class thanking the fans and giving NDSU credit

Yeah I don’t think we played poorly at all. The Bison were just on fire in three of the 5 sets. They were playing low-error ball. Really efficient. Having a veteran setter really helps keep things “in system”. Really good digging and passing too.
We got fewer blocks than we usually do as well. Seemed like it anyway.
The Bison wanted it more.

Announced attendance: 1463
That pulls up the average even more to 1395. A record year (so far)
Hosted NVIC matches count, too…

We are so lucky to have Leanne as our coach!! Hopefully she plans on retiring at USD many years down the road!

Mavs just beat the Roos…….
…… in a reverse sweep! How fitting for this conference.
I don’t dislike either of those teams, but I’ll say I’m glad for the Mavs. They’ve been knocking on the door for a few years, and Coach Buttermore is a good coach.
Although we DO recruit their backyard pretty hard….
Well, my wife is a Mav, too. So that’s my excuse.

Many won’t agree with this I’m sure, but if Coach W ever had a season where she was the leagues Coach of the Year, it was 2023. I thoroughly understand why she didn’t get it but that young lady coached her butt off in a season with injuries, new faces, and one of the top players in the country forced to “retire” from the sport she loves and excels at in Elizabeth Juhnke. If Juhnke played, we go undefeated in league play and start preparing for the NCAA’s.
Leanne certainly has some major holes to fill with us losing both our middles, one being the Summit League POTY. Her recruiting class was ranked as high as 5th in the nation, so next year we instantly become a very young team.
This team battled their butts off this year. I thank them for the effort they put forth. Great young ladies. I’m proud they wore RED.

Even in a year that we'd all probably consider a down year from what we've gotten used to, the new AD should be trying to ink another long term deal. I know she can coach, I know she can recruit, I know she can manage the program. She has elevated that program beyond what anyone could have hoped for and continues to raise the bar every year.
