NDSU - NCAA Quarterfinals

Ok. Now that I've stepped back from the ledge ...if you would have told be before the year started that we would lose big to NDSU in the quarters I would have gladly signed up for the ride. It's still a bitter pill to swallow. They played their best today, we didn't, and the score indicates that.

This Bison team could give the jacks some trouble.

Well that’s that. A great season but the spotlight finally got a little too bright. Will we be back? Hard to tell but one can hope.

Couple post game thoughts:
We never adapted to the game, second half each possession we had we played with no urgency. Why not start trying to up the tempo a bit and just open up the play book and switch it up. It’s clear the way we were used to playing wasn’t working.

(This is not an advocation for Bob retiring) but I was thinking he’s in his mid 60’s now and I wonder how much longer he’ll stay on the sidelines. It seems like even though we lost a 10-3 season and a 3 seed would be great timing to pass the baton.

This is where I'm at too. I knew we have building and we're a year ahead of schedule.

Stepped out at half and had some beers with a couple Bison fans. They were very complimentary. Honestly, I think they knew more about USD Football than many Coyote fans. They were shocked by what was happening. I just said we're a year ahead of schedule, haven't been on this stage before and they have been and it shows.

Regardless of the outcome today this has been a successful season and something to build on. We're young and getting better.

Bob ain't leaving. He's been through the highs and lows here. We're on a high and building. Just getting started. No way he's not seeing this through. No way.

No. If he did announce a retirement though it wouldn’t shock me.

Congrats to the football team on an incredible season!

Really impressed with the crowd today. Lots of RED in the stands. I would be it was 80/20 red. I thought the crowd was very engaged too...as long as they could be anyway. Once the score got to 28-3, it was hard to stay loud.

My biggest disappointment of the season was that we laid an egg with our two biggest crowds. But I'm staying positive...this was a hell of a season, and great step in the right direction!

Agree 100 percent.  Not the same Bison team.  I think we got their best today and they were angry.  The difference was really all the big plays we gave up today.  Those didn't happen last time.  We couldn't get them off the field today.  Literally .  Combination of no pass rush and lackluster coverage made for a long day.  One of the few times this year where we didn't have either.  Has to be frustrating for our guys who were so good nearly all year.  Aidan really took a beating today too.  We hadn't seen that much either.  Surefire recipe for disaster.

Bison looked really hungry today. If them and the Jacks meet up in Frisco I think I'd take the Bison. They were very impressive today. Hats off to them, they earned it today.

Anyone posting during the game about our guys not being motivated or trying hard was just being emotional and/or was not there. The effort and the passion was there, but we just simply got our dicks kicked today. Totally out-muscled along the lines. We’re going to learn and grow from this. We will also age and get stronger. I’m extremely excited for the future and glad we received this lesson today. Just wish it hadn’t come at the hands of the Bison.
