Check out the most recent “Nobody’s Listening Anyway “ podcast from Zimmer and Gaskins. Both said they would pick USD in the game. Not against the spread, either. Might be the only talking head or media/ podcast/ YouTuber of any kind I have seen sticking their necks out on that pick. Supposedly the line is +6.5 right now. If the line moves a little closer to the game, it’s the sharps betting…. I haven't checked around on predictions, but heading into the playoffs a guy on the NCAA website predicted we would make it to Frisco. I want to say he had NDSU in this game and not Montana State.

Injury wise. Ndsu is pretty solid. Sounds like you guys are as well
So should be a fair fight, now let’s see what conference these refs are from so we can’t blame them. Haha

Didn’t someone post the other day that USD played at SDSU on ABC once back in the 80’s? I swear I saw that somewhere. I haven't seen that posted here. On here someone posted that USD hosted SDSU on ABC, perhaps in 1969 coinciding with the 100th anniversary of college football, but I can't find evidence that this happened in 1969 (checked TV listings in Texas, Maine, Florida newspapers and Cal-UCLA was the only game listed). USD played Nebraska / Omaha in 1978 on ABC. For the NCC Championship I do have evidence that these teams played on ABC in 1978, per an old UNO football media guide, but I am guessing it was in Omaha if it was for the NCC Championship. Correct me if I'm wrong, I know you were at home watching that one . I never would have guessed that was something that happened. I still can't find any evidence that there has ever been a network TV broadcast from Vermillion. I am a history nerd and would be very interested to hear of a past example, at Inman or the Dome. As far as I can tell that history will be made on Saturday.

I wouldn't have guessed USD has featured in any nationally broadcast games, but my search for one in Vermillion has come up completely flat.

Completely irrelevant findings from my research, but I'm going to share because I thought it was funny:
UNO's final football media guide in 2010 begins with this artful, serene sentence as the lead-in for the program's obituary: "On a classic, warm Saturday afternoon on Oct. 14, 1911, a light breeze, sunshine and autumn colors greeted the fans at the field at 24th and Evans Streets as the University of Omaha kicked off its first football season ever with a 25-0 victory over Nebraska Deaf & Dumb Institute". I about fell off the couch when I got to the end of that sentence. They tried to meld history with poetry, but then had to mention the opponent.
Speaking of 1st games in program history, Augustana's first ever game was against Beresford High School. Augustana lost 92-0. That's the first time I have ever heard of a high school playing a college team, and I dare someone to find a funnier occurrence.

I think Beanie’s son, Tim Cooper, was the QB in that game. Great neighbors.

No, the QB was Scott Pollock. Tim played wide receiver that year and became the qb the following year, the first season played in the Dome. Beanies other son Pat was a starting LB. Fun day fun year but that’s in the past. It’s time to turn all our attention to Saturdays game.
Going to be a great game. Tough to beat a good team twice, but that said, this team is different. They’re resilient. A VERY LOUD Dome will go a long ways in the results of this game. LOUD ALL THE TIME. That’s new for us. Typically only loud when things happen to create stir. I’ve said this in years past, the absolute toughest venue in the league to play at is the FargoDome. We need to create that same environment.
What a great opportunity that lies in front of us.

I graduated in 1971 so I'm in the old club! Have followed USD sports ever since. I do vaguely remember a Coyote game on national TV (I've always lived in the Black Hills) way back when played in Omaha and believe USD D lineman named player of the game but don't remember his name.
