Below is a list from Verbal Commits of the Summit League players that have entered the portal so far. A fair amount of speculation that Zeke Mayo & William Kyle III may also be going to the portal.
Felix Brostrom USD Jeremiah Coleman USD Miles Branch USD BJ Omot UND Elijah Brooks UND Tyree Ihenacho UND Ahjany Lee St Thomas Bennett Kwiecinski St Thomas Dom Martinelli St Thomas Ashton Smith ORU Cam Ambros ORU Demari Williams ORU Elijah Lawrence ORU Jailen Bedford ORU Jake Shannon ORU Trey Phipps ORU Frankie Fidler Omaha Jaeden Marshall Omaha Jamal Ambrose Omaha Luke Jungers Omaha Marcel Bryant Omaha Andrew Morgan NDSU Boden Skunberg NDSU Joshua Streit NDSU Lance Waddles NDSU Sam Hastreiter NDSU Cole Glasgow KC Jevin Sullivan KC Kasheem Grady KC Malik Olafioye KC Promise Idiaru KC Tyler Andrews KC
The bolded names are players that made first team all league. Other members of the first team were Tommy Bruner from Denver, who will graduate and Jamar Brown of KC, who may be the only all league player that will return for next season.

Oof. The Summit League looks like it will struggle in the NIL/portal era. Looks like all 5 of the 2nd team are either graduating or transferring too.
Also, I just realized William Kyle III made 1st team? Geesh - that's a hard no for me. And Appel didn't make 1st or 2nd - did voters only watch highlights? (Of which Kyle had a ton.)

I will always hate this. I don't believe for one second that these kids aren't being tampered with while they're playing for their original teams. Grad transfers are one thing. Poaching is another. They are basically year to year free agents.

Yeah, we need to resist the urge to laugh at our conference rivals losing players, because a watered-down conference only means worse seeds in the dance, worse performances in the non-conference, a lower profile in national media and…. Worse basketball to watch. Nobody wins in the Summit when the best players are harvested every year.

It’d be great if we weren’t brainwashed into believing that literally every aspect of our lives needs to be ruled by the “free” market.
Alas.

How much "NIL" money do you think he is looking at? It's hard for me to feel informed on this topic, I've seen so many nonsensical amounts being thrown at guys in higher conferences, but would he be looking at a 6-figure payday? If I were 21 with very limited pro prospects it would be very challenging to turn down the payday.
It stinks, but how do we fight this as the "small fish".

You don’t.
Ma and pa’s store gets crushed by Wal-Mart in this story.
You’re ma and pa here.

Back to Lawrence, KS? What a weird post. I didn't see the transfer portal part of it, just the draft declaration. He isn't going to the NBA . He'll have options in the portal though. I really don't know how a low major can build a program when their best players are gone as soon as their stock rises. The whole thing is bad for college basketball.

It’d be great if we weren’t brainwashed into believing that literally every aspect of our lives needs to be ruled by the “free” market. Alas. I do respect your point, I think. However, a free market by definition wouldn't rule every aspect of anyone's life, except maybe their personal freedom. We should try it again, a free market. The brainwashed have only themselves to blame, it is their brain after all. I do agree that there are a lot more important things in life than money, and hope that our college athletes see the value of those things, more than just the biggest pot of NIL $$.

Saffiedine to the portal it appears. His playing time dwindled to a trickle as the season went on. This one might be in the best interests of both sides IMHO. Too few scholarships in this sport. That's another point: why do we only have 13 scholarships in men's basketball? Seems silly to me. It actually exacerbates the NIL issue. Same with Women's Volleyball. They need 14 or 15 instead of 12.
