Second try at having our first FCS game of the year. I'm expecting a decisive victory. They beat EWU but it looks like they are really down this year bad. Tailgating weather doesn't look great, so we'll have to drink our beers fast so they don't get watered down.
Here's to hoping Drake doesn't get exposed to polio in the next 5 days.

Time to get prepared for league play by having a great showing this weekend. Although, we have had a limited menu to watch up until now with only playing a D2 program that we ran all over and playing a Big Ten team that going in we chose to limit the offense. I think it's absolutely necessary that we get our best offensive playmakers involved with the gameplan. Looking at the stats up until now, our 1st team MVFC and All-American TE only has 5 targets and our 1st team MVFC and All-American WR only has 6 targets in 2 games. At some point in the season, we are going to have to ask these guys to make major plays to help win games because they have proven that they are capable of competing at a high level in this league. It's vital to get them highly involved in the offense to create timing and consistency for those moments and probably most important is the blanket of security for our QB. I look at what the other teams in the league and nation are doing and their best offensive skill players are getting major touches every game to help influence the game. Just a thought as we move forward.

Drake has had an interesting start to the season also! They’ve only played 1 game in 3 weeks!!!
• Week 1 vs. D-2 opponent Quincy called a NO-CONTEST due to weather • Week 2 @ Eastern Washington – they steal a win 35-32 IN OT, on the road from an FCS opponent from the Big Sky that is not great; QB Luke Baily 24-48 and 380 yards and 2 TDs • Week 3 BYE

Not off base at all. DBADA

DBADA Not sure what you mean by self interest but I agree with Bobo. We need to be a bit more balanced and get Bouman more comfortable with the passing game. I really don’t care who we throw it to(preferably to someone thats open) They all can make plays! We will need it one day. Too conservative in playing calling or they just aren’t comfortable with Bouman. We need to take an occasional shot down field. It’s good for the soul

It’s good for the soul I agree with needing a deep shot once in a while. I just hate seeing every one of them thrown to the boundary. For whatever reason, it seems like all our deep throws are to the sideline and our receivers are either not getting enough separation or are getting pushed out of bounds. I want to see some deep verticals up the seam or some deep post shots.

For Whom the Bell Tolls is bad ass. That sets the tone for the game.
Good job.

We really need to settle down. Yes, we had an unexpected bye, but this is stupid.

Not a bad half of football. Nothing real exciting, but about what I expected. I am starting to get concerned about Aidan's ability to throw the long ball. At some point he has to be able to hit the vertical.

Somebody needs to tell the PA guy to just say it's third down when we're on defense. It sounds weird when he yells it's thiiiiird and fiiiiiiive. Just stick to third down.

The amount of penalties we've had the last two games is ridiculous. We have to clean that up come league play. Lots of late hit/personal foul type penalties. Today we had back to back late hits which is unacceptable.

We've certainly come a long way when most of us feel sort of dissatisfied with a 42-3 win, me included. We'll see what we really have next week.
