That would be a wow lineup. Not saying I dispute your info in any way. But it might fit your point (and mine) about defense. And it makes sense from an experience perspective...seniors and juniors.
But that rim protection...that could be ugly.

Also of note: #33 is Mia Bergstrom, Joy's sister.

The rumored starting lineup is correct.

... and the concerns about rim protection and defensive rebounding look well founded.

We just can't buy an outside bucket. I'd like to blame it on shot selection but that's only a small part of it. We've forced a few but even the good looks just haven't gone in. I will say I've seen more defense in this quarter than we saw in most games last year. I think the opponent may have something to do with it but we're hustling for sure.
We've turned the ball over a lot. Pretty rough on the perimeter.

Brooklyn Meyer might go 40-20 on this lineup.

Thankfully St. Louis fouled a lot or else this one could be 20 points. Kieffer played well and was a bright spot but for the most part that was pretty ugly.

Really good second half effort to go to overtime. If they play like this they could be a decent squad.

Tough loss. We were so gassed in OT. Couldn't get a stop when we needed one and came up 2 points short.

That was a hell of an effort. It was also kind of familiar. Larkins doing all she can. Duffney had a great second half. Need somebody else to make some plays.
It looks like there are some kids that can grow into that. Kieffer was good in the first half thankfully, because her 10 kept them around. I loved Klosterbuer’s confidence and skill late. The transfer hit a couple big shots.
And they played super hard and didn’t quit at all when things looked grim in the third. That says a lot.
But damn they’re small and deeply, massively exploitable in the lane. I was surprised we didn’t see the Colorado transfer at all. Any decent big is going to cause them huge headaches. SLU had no shooters thankfully. And they weren’t that big even. Length and athleticism are again going to be issues. You make shots and take care of the ball like the second half? You look pretty good. You don’t and you don’t like the first? Rough going.
But overall I thought it was a solid start, albeit a loss, for the Eighmey regime.

Really strange and unexpected to not see Loomis-Goltl in the game at all. We’re going to desperately need her size.

Brooklyn Meyer might go 40-20 on this lineup. This is something me and my buddies talked about tonight. I asked a couple of my Verm friends about Loomis-Goltl. I won't say what they heard, but I think the loudest thing was said by the coaching staff tonight. On a team that is screaming for a post player, she was the last one on the bench (farthest away from the staff) and they never remotely considered playing her. I'll also add that recruiting rankings have a margin of error. Hopefully we will start to see her get some chances and she can grow from there. But I think it's fair to question if she will make an impact this year. And of course, we will need to wait and see a bit. SLU had no post player at all, really, so maybe that's why she didn't play at all.

We know Grace and Carley can play and they did. I thought Carson and Kieffer did well . First half was bad and played great second half we had trouble all nite with defense rebounds. Talked to a St Louis parent he said the best players were back from last years WNIT team that beat Minnesota by 19. So I guess we should say it was encouraging start. Looks like we are going to red shirt most of the freshman

I think it was a decent performance, given the opponent. I saw 2 very good post players on SLU, maybe not typical size, but they sure played well in the paint. I think we did a good job of defending them when we made our run.
A lot of questions on roster and playing time, but it's first game, new coach, new regime. I thought defense was better at times, but more sagging/help than pressure, but again could be opponent and match-ups.
Like the fight, being down big in the 2nd half and getting it to OT. Long way to go, but it's early.
