Yeah I agree. It will be interesting to see if USD can pick up a road win this year. USD needs that win at UND, without a doubt. Good point.

"Good Point", I didn't think you'd say that the rest of the day. Wow thanks for the nice words. :-)

This might be my last post because I probably will be banned, but quite frankly I have had enough of coyotefan. His name should be changed to coyotecritic.
I am sick of his continued put downs of almost everything USD sports. If we aren't contending for a national title every year in every sport, he claims it is a failure. I for one am sick of his nonsensical evaluation of USD athletics.
Is he entitled to his opinion? Yes, of course he is. But at what point does he back off of his continued criticism? Short of beating LSU this year, there is nothing about the football program he is happy about. Nothing. One of his last posts asks the question is will fans consider USD's record of 3-3 against FCS opponents a success or not? Let's say we beat UND next weekend, will he then say that this season was a success? I don't think so. He'll find a way to twist it that it was a failure.
Coyotefan, I see you were typing during the game today. Was that on a Droid, or I-Phone, or were you home? because I was there, and I didn't see you there. If you were home, why was one of USD's biggest critic at home? Why weren't you there? You claim to be such a large fan, where the hell were you? Don't give me some answer about the cost, because you have been to other games. Yet you continue to spout off.
In the volleyball section, you again are just so dissatisfied with USD volleyball. Are you kidding me? What the hell do you know about volleyball. The team he inherited 3 years ago was absolutely horrible. So in his third year, he has us competing in the Summit League, and being very competitive. You analyze football so expertly, please lay on us your analogy about USD volleyball. What do you see we need to improve in? Please answer that question. If you can't, then please shut the hell up, because I will bet a dime against a hundred dollars you don't know the first damned thing about volleyball.
Tell me about your college experience as a player. Because your expert analogy lends people to believe you know what you are talking about when you criticize Coach Meierkort and his players and staff. So please tell me what experience you have. Please enlighten me as to what experience you have in sports administration. You have so many changes you would implement, so I have to assume once again your knowledge in college athletics is extensive.
Tell me about how vested you are financially in USD athletics. Once again, I have to assume you are a donator to Coyote sports on a regular basis. I am not talking about size of donation, just regularity. You were critical earlier this year because your seats were moved so based on the assumption you have given regularly, I will have to place a call to AD Sayler to find out why you were moved.
I know most of the posters here probably won't agree with my post, and to those of you that know me I apologize, but I am sick of this guy running down USD athletics and getting away with it. I will bet the farm he hasn't played a down of college sports, and the fact he buys a $15 ticket gives him the "right" to pop off about Coach Meierkort and Coach Hauk.
Boot me if you want but I have had enough of this guy. His glass is half empty and always has been.

I am going to ignore the elephant in the room and let you more established gentlemen handle the above.
This was my family's one chance to get to Vermillion this year.
Thought the team played well except a few times, with a lead, they seemed to let up but quickly righted the ship. Was amazed at how effortless Novonty and Powell made running after the catch. Surely will miss those two next year. Hit of the game could easily been given to Warren instead of Potter.
Had a nice walk around campus and really enjoyed the day.

Agreed Yoteforever. Coyote fan on the message board giving updates was the first thing that came across my mind too. Interesting. Were there some not so good moments in the game today? Yeah there was. In the end, we got the W and are looking forward to next week.
I also totally agree with yoteforever on the crowd today. It was pretty sad. It was pretty small and many season ticket holders weren't even there. Like you said, who cares who we are playing. You go to the games to support YOUR team! It shouldn't matter who we are playing and what our record is, you should be a SD fan no matter what. Fair weather fans make me want to puke! Pretty sad I could go in the hall at half time and not be bumping in to anyone and got a pop with no wait at all. That is sad.
I also agree with bigOyote. Warren could have just as easily gotten the hit of the game on that play. Nice hit!
By the way, nice win for the volleyball team over SDSU today as well!

Well if you don't like what I have to say than go ahead and create a poll and I will leave if that is what the majority want and I have always stuck to my word on that. I have created a poll in the past and the majority DID NOT want me to leave. Maybe that has changed and if so I will definately turn the lights out on this forum. Just start a poll if you want me gone and I will be more than happy to leave if that is what is wanted.
What I will not do is change my style. Love it or hate it but it is what it is.
As far as volleyball is concerned I never claimed to be an expert, just calling things for what they are and that is for the most part a late season collapse. Or maybe not because the effort must have been great so it really doesn't matter what the results end up being.
To Yotesforever go back to the Eastern Washington thread and/or the Southern Utah thread and tell me how critical I was of those performances. Problem is those performances don't seem to happen often enough. I am an equal opportunity poster. I will praise when it's deserved and will critisize when it's deserved. Most people won't do the latter, I will.
as far as the Missouri S&T game, honestly I didn't really care about it all that much and because of that I wasn't there but expense is a factor although not the main factor. For me it would cost about $40 to go to the game. Not a huge amount but enough where a non inspiring game is enough of one where I am going to save my money and do something with my family instead. I have much different circumstances now. I can't just go to every game that I want to anymore. Other priorities do factor in as is the case with many people. It is no secret that I have said that only 6 games I really cared about were the 6 FCS games. If USD is going to schedule 3 non D1 home games they shouldn't be surprised if the dome isn't exactly electrified. Ya get what ya deserve.

Remember when he did create a new board and no one showed up. USD beat EWU and within a week that board was deleted and he was back here. Glad the Yotes got over the second quarter stumbles and took it to Missouri S&T. Time to take care of business in North Dakota and earn a share of the conference title.

Well, I missed my first USD home game in about 7 years due to some family obligations that took me out of town. The opponent didn't matter, we could have been playing the Sioux and I still would have had to miss, I would have just been more disappointed. So I followed the game from a distance and was suprised at how the second quarter went but all in all a performance that earned an easy win, as expected. The Coyotes finish transition now without losing to a lower division team, that is a good mark to win the ones you are supposed to.
I hate to say it but this board is getting crappy again. Let's not make this board about one poster or individuals. Let's get back to talking about the teams, the games, what's going on in the world, and making fun of SDSU. Coyote Fan, just let it go and move on to another topic.
On to Grand Forks. Beat the Sioux!!

Hey I am simply keeping things generally on topic. It's everyone else that is turning this thing into something more than it has to be. For whatever reason some people just can't let me have my opinion without turning it into personal attacks.

You're entitled to your opinion, like everyone else, but I think everyone likes a sunny day once in awhile.

Wow!
I thought the purpose of boards is to share info, opinions, support, AND criticism. There is a broad line between constructive criticism and personal attacks. There are many things we all don't like about the program, but we offer explanations and solutions for change. That's called constructive criticism. Our verbose friend seems to have a personal bone to pick with Ed and some of the players. For me, he can take it somewhere else.
If you don't like the program, don't go to the games. Otherwise, cheer real loud when they do something good and chant to fire them up when they don't. Use this board to share info, opinions, support, AND criticism.
Or take a walk. It's not personal, just some constructive criticism.
