Bisoninnwmn,
It's hard to argue with much of what you said. The offense kind of stunk it up after the first quarter. The Bison defense deserves much of that credit. The Coyote D has been a weakspot for years, so that is not a new revelation. I wish the Yotes could get that straightened out. In the second half the Bison charged through the Yotes like a bulldozer through a plastic factory. It was ugly from a Yotes perspective.
The good news for the Yotes is they probably won't play many defenses as good as the Bison defense being fired up by a roaring crowd. USD's defense plays much better in like circumstances in the Dakotadome.
I agree about the punter he is hitting some missles this season. Maybe we could get that guy to play some on defense, LOL. I guess by the punting that by default is the best Coyote defense.
I think it was our Tampa-2 scheme on defense. The front 4 are pretty good and that frees up our athletic LBers to make plays. The Bison were on their heels for much of the 1st half but I give our D-coor credit for making the right adjustments at half-time.
Yotes are a really good team. They will give the Sue fits this weekend. If your O-coor sticks to his guns and keeps the playcalling a good mixture of run/pass, the yotes will win. That is one thing that surprised me in the 2nd half. When the Bison got up, your O-coor strictly went with the pass and QB reads to run. IMO, it would have been a different ballgame in the 2nd half if he would have kept more to the run.
I'm just happy we wont see your QB again.......
Good luck against the Sue......and kick UNI's a** down there...
