The Lady Yotes play at 2:30PM Central against a good Oakland team. To get a split on the weekend the Yotes will need to really play well to beat the Grizzlies.

Really? They need to play really well? Crack analysis there...Of course, the Yotes take pride in their defense, but the offense got a late start the last name. USD needs to get the offense going right away in these Summit games. Amber Hegge is of course the key, but whoever is going to be the second option in this game needs to step up early. A couple Tempsett Wilson or Annie Roche 3's usually do the trick.

HUGE win for the Yotes 58-51 at the preseason #2 Summit pick Oakland. The game was close throughout with USD holding the lead more often than the Griz. The Coyotes had a 52-50 lead when Hegge hit a big three with under a minute left making it a 5 point game. Oakland could not really make a serious run at it thereafter.
That just takes the momentum and puts a lightning bolt into it for the Ladies. It's gonna be a great trip home. Williams was extremely happy with the game today. He said the team really played intensely and got big stops at big times. The offense wasn't very efficient this weekend but made some clutch baskets today. Williams said the offense can still play alot better.
This definately legitimizes USD Women's basketball. 7th in the Summit, I don't think so!!!

Not much talk but this team is really walking the walk right now. They have 2 big road wins already against Creighton and Oakland. The way the Yotes play defense they are always going to be a threat. It also makes those late game moments more comforting knowing we have a team that can guard people.
There have been some not so great moments lately with football and mens hoops but these ladies have a chance to really put a charge into the fans if we would just take notice. I think it is outstanding the way this team has opened this season.

Congrats on a big win! It is great having another team from South Dakota making a statement about women's basketball to the other teams in the Summit.
