OK, let's get it started.
After playing well against UMKC the Yotes should have some confidence building, but then again the Jacks are playing strong.
Optimistic prediction Yotes 75 Jacks 71
Truthful prediction Jacks 81 Yotes 71
There is just no way we could play as bad as we did the first half in Brookings! At least I hope.

I think SDSU will win 77-62. It will be a much closer game than it was in Brookings but SDSU is just too good and deep. Guris will have to be a force down low. He could be the best low post player on the court. Dykstra is the best shooter(by far) of the post players but he doesn't use as many post moves. Feigen uses some post moves but not as many as Guris(I think). Westbrook is the most athletic wing player but can he get to the rim? I'm sure he can hit some outside shots but I think his speed is his biggest asset. Krogman hit a few 3's against SDSU last time but that was against the reserves. He'll have to do more of that early in the game to keep it close. These 3 players will have to play great for USD to win. Their other players are role players that I just don't see carrying them to a win. I could be wrong but this is just my opinion.
Will USD play their zone against SDSU or go man to man? Their zone got ripped apart in Brookings but that's what Boots is known for. The home crowd should help the players with their intensity at getting out on the shooters.

I'm also picking the Jacks but in a close contest 77-74. Just don't think the Yotes have enough fire power. Also, the Jacks are a good shooting team and the match-up zone will be exposed...

I believe if the score is close the Yotes will win. This despite the fact the Yotes have not pulled out any close games this year. Bunnies come in as the heavy favorite and if they cannot get a comfortable lead, all the pressure will be on them. The pressure plus the effect of the big crowd could result in the Yotes pulling the upset.
My logical self says the Bunnies by about 12 - 15 points. My partisan self says the Yotes by 2 ( with a 3 at the buzzer providing the margin of victory)

I'll go 82-60 Jacks.
I just don't think USD has the guards to match up with SDSU and will struggle to score again.

If SDSU again knows what's coming on defense, the matchup zone, they'll be able to play confidently. If the Jacks get out quick again, it'll take most of that USD crowd intensity out of the game. If it's close in the second half, that place will get even LOUDER, and the Jacks will feel like they're swarmed out there. Trust me. That's a weird feeling, even in such an open venue like the Dome.

The Jacks have played before large crowds before. SDSU wins 86-65.

The Jacks have played before large crowds before. SDSU wins 86-65. But they haven't played in front of this many fans that have truley disliked them either.

The good thing about the blowout in the last game is that it will be a little harder to get the attention of the Jacks players in practice than it will the Yote players. When the intensity is turned up as high as it will be alot of what happened in Brookings will be completely turned around. The Jacks deserve to be favored but I don't think it will be a 20 point blowout. I don't recall the final score but Oral Roberts did not overwelm USD in Vermillion and they are the best team in the league. USD when they played ORU did not have the advantage of an extremely fired up crowd like they will have on Thursday. USD beat Wyoming in the dome last year and last years team was not that great either. Things will not come as easy as they did in Brookings. USD played that game shell shocked which they won't do in Vermillion.
When USD is overlooked and are playing at home are very tough whether it's football, basketball or whatever. I hope the SDSU players will come in thinking they will win by 20 or more.

As to the second bolded statement- And SDSU housed ORU in Brookings. I was there, it was more of a beatdown than the score even indicated. Comparative scoring doesn't work. However, I do agree the atmosphere will play a role in the game being much closer than the one in Brookings.

17-6 USD early and the crowd is charged. On the radio the SDSU fans can barely be heard. USD fans rocking the house and rocking the bunnies.

Yotes win Yotes win. Jacks were probably too worried about a billboard to make shots. Hilarious that we are still in transition and beat the mighty bunnies.
