Anyone else see the twitter post yesterday from Jeremy Hoeck at the P & D about Allen Saint Gelais suiting for the football team this spring?
Very interesting. What kind of football background does he have? Wonder if he'll be playing basketball next season, or maybe both, ala Dale Moss?

I heard it mentioned during a local update on the radio here in SF.

Yes, he is trying out for the football team. I don't believe he has any football experience whatsoever. He is a very good athlete and I could see him fitting in as a tight end, athletically. As for football IQ, who knows how he'll develop.
He will not be playing basketball for the Coyotes anymore.

Maybe he didn't like playing with certain team members. We have problems that aren't going away. My bet is he won't be the last to give it up or transfer.

I will rephrase. Does anybody have any actual knowledge as to why he will no longer be playing basketball? Has it actually been confirmed that he is done, or is his departure also speculation?

He is done with his basketball career, that has been confirmed.
I actually heard this story a couple of weeks ago.
What I was told is he came into the basketball office and told the coaches he wanted to play football. It was very amicable, he was thankful for the opportunity to play basketball he just wanted to do something different. The news kinda shocked everyone as nobody had any idea he was thinking of doing this. Since then he has hit the gym and has been pounding out the weights and working out with the football team. I asked whether he'd even be a good football player and was told he's a heck of an athlete, big, fast, strong, athletic, just don't know how it will work out since I don't think he's ever played football (In my head I'm thinking football looks like a fun sport until you get smoked, then it's not so much fun anymore).
There have been more than a few hoopsters that have made the transition to football, so let's see how this works out.

Do you think Hilliard will go out for football?
