I had heard prior to this weekend's game against Minny that tailgating spots were almost sold out. If you want one you may want to get it booked quickly.

For those that were not there turnout for tailgating was great this past weekend. The move to the south lot is going to be a success in future years. So much better than to the north. I saw more student activity, the tailgating rigs and setups are getting more elaborate. It looked like everybody had a good time. Due to all the construction in that area the grass, errr weeds, are not fully developed so it is not ideal but wasn't bad. There is a plan for off season upgrades that we will all be happy about.
Given the turnout was this good for NW Okie, I am guessing the place is going to be packed on D-Days for the Sioux. A win against NDSU will make it even bigger. I'm torn, I've always liked the D-Days bar scene so I guess I'll plan on hitting the bars around 8, grab some breakfast at the Pub/Maya Jane's, watch a little of the parade, then go setup at 10. Gonna be a long day. Reserve your spots today!

Yote 53, your plan for D-Days sounds great honestly. It's good to know the tailgate went very well. I didn't hit it up because I finally got some quality time with the significant other. It had been a while basically. Sorry NW Okie State. But it's good to know the tailgate area is better and will continue to get better. The USD buzz is at an all-time high, so hopefully it continues.
For this upcoming weekend. I am sure there were will be a good amount of tailgaters out too in Fargo.

Helloooo from Montana. We are curious if you got your tailgate up and running this year like you planned. Sounds like you committed to some changes and they sound positive. We enjoyed hosted all you folks the past couple of years and hope we get to play you again some day. We have a pretty good team this year and see where you guys are doing well also. Hope we get to see you in the playoffs. Anyway, let us know what you did to improve your game day tailgating. Thanks

I honestly don't recall from the D-Days game (not because of intoxication), but did a lot of people take up the tailgating opportunity in the $10-per-spot paved lot just north of the grass tailgating area? I know the grass spots are already sold out for this game.

There were a couple NoDakers tailgating there. All the USD people stuck to the grass area. I saw Coyote Fans just roaming around from tailgate to tailgate with their cases of beer in tow. Reminded me of Iowa City . Chatter over at Panthernation is that we should expect quite a few UNI fans in the paved lot this week I also heard ticket sales are very strong to UNI fans coming over. I'd expect 500-700 of their fans for the game. This had the makings of a huge attendance game if not for the pheasant opener. Expected turnout is in the 8000 range, poor attendance for UNI, imo.

What's on the Griiiillll?
Suggestions on tailgate food for the weekend. Go for the old stand-by, brats and burgers? I will have some smoked pork loin on hand. Mmmmm. Gooood. Let's hear some suggestions.

Towards the end of yesterday's live chat on the Argus site somebody mentions that "they" are trying to get rid of alcohol at the CTN (Coyote Tailgate Nation). BIG MISTAKE. If they do that there will be an open (container) revolt. Honestly, it would kill any momentum this program has. Lately the team has been about .500 and the home schedule has been spotty. How else are people going to show up next year for Lindenwood and Missouri S&T if there is no event surrounding the game? I guess it will be a boon for Pro's. If this goes down we should all just tailgate anyway. They can't stop us all. See how well that worked out for Iowa last season. www.argusleader.com/article/99999999/SPORTS0203/91221044

I would be suprised if they are trying to get rid of alcohol in the tailgate area. Maybe they were talking about the student area because of underage issues or something. But I agree, nobody is going to tailgate unless there is booze.
