I am not going to say those rankings are wrong, but if ESPN is your source for rankings, anything unbiased or anything original, you are looking in the wrong place. They know nothing outside of the top 25, especially if it is west of the Mississippi.

ESPN routinely mentions the Summit League and this week, ESPN.com, gave a significant amount of attention to one particular Summit League player.
Clarification: ESPN.com ... not the flagship Sports Center on TV

I couldn't care less about ESPN rankings, or any rankings for that matter, the only thing we need to focus on right now is getting better. Seems like Boots and his staff have some improved pieces. Let's see if it translates into conference wins.

Would agree. bleacher report has become one of my favorite sport sites. Yikes...that is becoming one of the least respected sites because of their poor story quality, major mistakes and lack or research. This site has dropped big time in the last two years. CBSsports podcast is a very good podcast and their basketball coverage is great.

Has anyone heard of the rumors of the new basketball floor in the new arena? Supposedly a booster is willing to donate a generous portion of money if the court is named Coach Boots floor. Just a rumor not sure if it's true. I haven't heard it, but I guess if a high dollar donation is coming in I would presume it is going to the new arena? But maybe not.

Coach Boots made some very bold statements to the crowd at Lunch with the U today. He is really putting the weight of the basketball program on his shoulders. He didn't make so many bold overtures with regard to this season, but he definitely set the bar for the next 3 years. He views the core nucleus of Larson, Thoseby, Norris, Kasperbauer, Flack and Robertson as the foundation upon which he will build the program.
Make no mistake, there are other players that will be key this season and the next. But he looks at the above players as key because they will all be her for the next 3 seasons (Larson out this season with ACL, will have 2 more).
I think most impressive to me were the overtures he made regarding Flack and Norris. He REALLY set the bar high with Flack. I hope he can live up to the hype. That would be huge.

Rotation for this year:
1) Myles, then Bos. 2) Kasperbauer, then Boots. 3) Tecker, then Rowson. 4) Gruis, then Robertson. 5) Flack, then Bartling.
I was shocked to hear him say that Gruis would be the 4 and Flack would be the 5. Even on the roster on goyotes.com Gruis is listed as the only C.

Something to remember when looking at our progress. SDSU records mens BB. 04-05. 10-18 05-06. 9-20 06-07. 6-24 07-08. 8-21 08-09. 13-20 09-10. 14-16 10-11. 19-12 11-12. 28- 7. If they can do it so can we!

Great point. A terrific season can quickly erase the memory of not just one bad campaign, but in SDSU's case, 6 of them run together. Nagy has done a tremendous job throughout that time period in getting his team to buy in to his program and in recruiting new talent.
