The only postgame coverage of the UC Davis by the P&D was a very short AP report. The SDSU - Western Illinois game was a full article. Some previous posts have commented on the superior coverage of the P&D compared to the Argus and I agree the P&D for the most part does a good job, but they really dropped the ball here.

Unlike the Argus, they cannot afford to send someone to California, which kind of sucks. Honestly, I actually didn't follow any local coverage of the game from Saturday on. I didn't listen to the local broadcast, followed UC Davis', and I didn't read anything from the Argus or P&D with it. Whoops.

Plus, you post that the P&D dropped the ball here, but why don't you post everytime the Argus drops the ball? When was the last time Mick was at a USD soccer game or volleyball match? He hasn't this year, and the P&D is usually at those games honestly. I suggest each time the Argus drops the ball, which is a LOT, maybe you should post that on here too.

I know his again would open another can of worms, but the P & D does a very good job overall with USD sports, and maybe the university should decide to pay the travel costs of the sports reporter so that a decent sized paper would give the Coyotes some priority coverage.
Just a thought.

I think it had something to do with the lateness of the game and it being on the west coast. I don't think the Argus had an article on Sunday about the game. I saw the article they ran was about the Coyotes practicing at the Niners practice facility.

Just a thought. As long as their was an empty seat on the airplane that is a great idea. If would be worth it for USD to do that. Let the P&D cover the hotel and food expenses.

Speaking of the 49ers practice facility story, I think I heard that there was an Alex Smith sighting, which would completely explain Dante's performance. I think it's the jinx of Alex Smith for this game haha.

Yote 53, your right about the game getting over too late. For most if not all papers in the state, the cutoff to get scores, stats, and stories is usually 10:30. Mick probably got that story in so there was at least something in the Sunday paper.

Coyote Fan, hotel costs for that long can get pretty expense too. Remember, a paper like the Argus is owned by Gannett, who has no problem throwing money around t hat they don't have. However, some of the smaller papers actually have to watch their budgets because they can't cry to Congress about being broke like the USA Today and Gannett. Sorry, newspaper rant there.
