After reading Mick Garry's recap, and looking at the stats, it appears that Gruis' foul troubles played a big role in this loss. The player minutes were probably more balanced of any game this season. Does anyone know the situation with Eric Robertson? He never got in the game and it would appear he has some of the size they needed last night.
Looking at the season-to-date stats, we are shooting 33% on 3s. Given our lack of depth in the paint, and outside shooting, it looks like a tough road in the Summit.

I was listening to Coach Boots' comments on the way home and he was talking about how his guard just have a hard time matching up defensively with good teams. So my question is, why is Jordan playing as many minutes as he is then? He struggled to match up with players in the Great West and now as the competition gets better, he just looks silly out there trying to keep up.

To answer your question: Jake Thomas, Cliff Warner, Terell Brown, Dominic Williams, Nimrod Hilliard IV and Tyler Larson are no longer on roster or injured.

You are correct, but Casey, Steve ,Juevol, Brandon, Karim all are on the roster and are way better at defense than Jordan. I think there could be a case for Jack as being equal to if not better than Jordan. I mean no disrespect to Jordan because he is a good kid, but his heart is not in the game, he could care less if they win or lose, he is expected to be out there weather he wants to be or not. He is put in a tough place with his dad as the coach. There is also something to be said for coaching defense also. The most successfully programs in division 1 use there defense to develop a winning program. There is a old saying in basketball that a very good coach taught me once ( this was a lot of years ago) that went something like this "offense will win a few games, but defense will win championships". This is glaringly not the attitude of this coaching staff, as there has been no effort put in a defense first type attitude at all. It is there choice to not coach any form of man to man defense at all. Time and money will decide if it is the right choice or not. Hopefully not to many young men will have there talent wasted along the way.

I don't know if Jordan being expected to be out there or not enjoying the game is correct, but its no secret that his defense is well below par. He gets too many minutes, I agree.
In terms of cliff Warner, wasn't sad to see him go and he was a d-2 player at his best. The others, yeah that does sting.

I'm trying to figure out the Jordan Boots gets too many minutes theory. He is currently getting more minutes than Bos, (but I expect that is going to change as Bos is earning more time), Robertson, Bartling, and Foley. The guys who have more minutes than Jordan, are probably being limited by their own doing, foul trouble, etc. I think Jordan is what he is a serviceable guard off the bench, who can shoot the three, and make some plays occasionally. Coach Boots uses him accordingly.

I agree with this--I think we have a Jordan Boots meme happening on this board. I've been to every home game this year, and it hasn't really occurred to me that he is a negative influence defensively. He doesn't have a turnover problem, and is a threat from three. All in all, he generally is a positive player off the bench. Really wish the "singling him out" crowd would lay off unless it is blatantly obvious. To me, it is not.
