Nothing earth shattering here: Fans. Make. A. Difference. I follow a lot of our athletes on Twitter, and they are not shy about stating that a large, energetic crowd motivates them to achieve.
Gruis tweet from tonight: "I will take out a loan and pay students to come to the games if we can have that atmosphere every nite Thanks fans you make a big difference."
Thoseby tweet: "What do we have to do to get this for all conference games?" (crowd pic attached)
Rowson tweet: "Big shout out to the fans, and cheerleaders and dancers for coming to the game, you guys make the game easier and more fun!!"
I continue to hope our more casual fans appreciate this. Beating SDSU does not amount to a successful season. That's merely icing. Winning league championships and making a run in the conference tournament is the cake. There are more than a few SDSU fans eager to suggest this is the "only game we care about" or our "Super Bowl." While I'm excited about the win, our players and fans have much to prove. Go Yotes! Off my soapbox.

In looking at the remaining schedule there are only 2 remaining Saturday home games. One is this coming Saturday vs the KC Roos. School will be back in session. Let's come from near and far this Saturday and get the Dome rocking.

This was your superbowl, with the Beevis and Butthead flick at half time and the fans rushing the court at the end of the game. You cant deny that now can you?

Some people (read Jacks fans) really get worked up over the students "storming the court" after the game. I personally am not going to say whether it is warranted or not, but it doesn't bother me. Nor would I be offended if I saw students from any other school do it if my favorite team was on the short side of the scoreboard. What I do know is that as an alum standing there watching the students on the floor, having a great time and savoring the win, I could only smile. They worked hard and cheered their butts off for a couple hours and felt like it was their win as well. If the students are going to games and having a good time, then there is a much better chance that they will continue going to the games. When their time as students is done and it comes time to lay out their hard earned money to support the athletic department and buying tickets to attend such sporting events, then I hope they look back fondly on their experiences as students/fans and it makes their decision to support the University an easy one.

Nidaros, we have been down this road before. The students rushing the court was almost an after thought if you were there. They probably did it to annoy the hell out of State fans. Regarding the film clip, and I have said this on your board, the vast majority of you are so freaking stoic and stuffed shirts, you don't know how to have fun. Remember when that goofball on your court side would ring a cow bell for almost anything State did positive? That was annoying, and Beavis and Butthead material, but it fit, since you are an AG school. The only reason he stopped is because the Summit League banned it. But in all reality, it was funny and appropriate. Don't get caught up with your stuffed shirt buds on the other board, let your hair down some and have a laugh or two. Hell, look at how the billboard worked out for you. Chill out a bit

Overheard a reporter asking a Coyote insider, "Since entering the Summit League, you have really been dominating the Jackrabbits. You've got a nice winning streak going against them. So, how is it that you lost that 1st game by 30 points? Were your guys not motivated, or unprepared?"
Answer: Well that first time out we didn't know this was "our Super Bowl". They have been letting us know ever since. But we got things straightened out and we're going all Pittsburgh Steelers on their Buffalo Bills arses now!!

Nothing earth shattering here: Fans. Make. A. Difference. Absolutely agree. Only FOUR more men's home games left this season everyone. Saturday was extremely fun-- let's do our best to make the SDSU game a spark towards improved attendance/energy within the program. The future can be different than the past, which is what we all want to see. Mark your calendars, come if you can, bring some friends. Obviously the students were having fun Saturday, too--if the majority of them would come and do that just four more times that would be awesome. Go Yotes, let's move this program forward!
