The USD women played Oakland close at home for much of the contest and then closed it out with a 18-4 run to claim a 64-47 win. Now 4-2 in the Summit League. The defense has been great and if the offense starts to consistently click ... this team is so dangerous.

I agree with #1. Great defense kept the Yotes in the game until their shots started to fall. Get job of hanging tough ladies!!

Another good win, probably an expected win, that was close for a while but as CF#1 stated, a big close-out run at the end made it more lopsided than it was. Have to credit Tempestt Wilson for a really great Sr season. She has been a difference maker. Also good to see Nicole Seekamp putting up the consistent numbers again. The team is playing strong defense game-in and game-out, and winning the rebound battles, which tells me we have a very good coach in Amy Williams.
Next year should be fun with a fully recovered Kelly Stewart boosting the offense, the continued improvement of this year's true freshmen, and the solid nucleus of the current sophomores and juniors. Go Yotes!

The key for this Women's team is to keep their biggest asset and that is to play smoothering defense and to play with intensity. The offense is inconsistant but it does come in spurts. I think maybe by the end of the year it can get more consistant but next year when the depth should be better the offense should get better and with more regularity. I really like the intensity Amy Williams brings to the team. She is going to continue the tradition that Chad Lavin started and Ryun Williams substained. The team plays hard which is great to see. If I had to choose I would rather the Yotes have a bit of trouble scoring than not be able to guard anyone. Both would be nice and we may yet see both. If that is the case this team doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone in the Summit. Games like the one against UMKC can happen from time to time but the team is playing well more often than not.

Guess who just lost to IUPUI by a digit at home tonight. Yep that's right the team that will soon be coming to town that the Coyotes have a chance to tie for first place in the loss column. I have a good feeling about the rematch in Vermillion. Go Yotes.
