A dominating performance by the Lady Yotes, winning by a 67 - 45 score. Lots of people saw minutes, and another standout effort by Tempestt Wilson!
Very nice contributions by a couple true freshmen, Margaret McLoud, 13pts, and Heidi Hoff, 11 pts.

I really like our Freshmen class, get Stewart back in the mix next year and the Yotes will have a very competitive young team.

I was at the game today and heard what I hope is only a rumor: supposedly Heidi Hoff may be considering a transfer at the end of the season. I sure hope that is flat out wrong as she is a raw talent with a huge upside. She put up 11 today I believe and is only going to get better. She plays a lot like SDSU's Ashley Eide IMHO.
From what I saw today our ladies are really coming together and playing great basketball. One comment, I wish Alexis Yackley would look to shoot the ball more as I think opposing teams are now simply game planning around her to make that extra pass instead of looking to score and in doing so are getting away with double teams and overplaying the other 4 lady Coyotes cutting off passing lanes and cutting down even more scoring opportunities. That girl is too good of shooter for the coaches to not be pulling her aside and telling her she needs to shoot more.
Even a miss is a lot better than some of these shot clock violations we have been seeing from both the men and the women. Both benches need to continue to count the shot clock down, but the wasted opportunities have to stop before we start tournament play. Man, that's frustrating to watch even during a great offensive effort like today. All in all, our girls look really salty.

Heard she is dating a USD football player and she is pretty tight with Hemiller, so I would be surprised if Hoff left.

I like Alexis Yackley and all (great leader, doesn't turn the ball over), but let's not get crazy about her being a solid shooter. Before today she was shooting 32 percent overall, 11 percent from three and 38 percent at the line. Not exactly lighting it up. I'd make her beat me.

For the game yesterday she was 0 for 1 in 30 minutes of play; I'm not crazy about her stats either, but to my point, she needs to shoot more than she is to help create scoring opportunities for her team-mates. For the season she is averaging 31.4 minutes a game (team high) and has attempted only 95 shots and has made 30 of those. Making roughly 1 out of 3 shots isn't a horrible chance of making a bucket. Start getting a few of those to go, draw a few double teams and given her ability to see the court and make great passes she'll start setting up even better scoring opportunities.
As to Hoff, thanks for the update #1CF. That sounds more like it.
